There are three certainties in life: 1. Death 2. Taxes 3. Adrian Barry complaining about his questions being far harder than everyone else's on the Crappy Quiz.
I can't agree with " swimming is a cod" Phelps was the best in the world in multiple strokes across multiple distances. Comparing it to athletics, it would be Usain Bolt winning gold in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and heptathlon. So yes Phelps was a once in a generation talent and swimming is not a cod.
I think he meant it would be more like Bolt winning 100m, 200m, 100m backwards, 100m side wards, 200m skipping, backwards relay etc. In that sense, why are people celebrating random swimming strokes when the freestyle is just everyone doing the front crawl to see who is really the fastest. Like who goes out and does the butterfly when they're in the pool other than random specialist swimmers?
@@peterl9022 okay I'll see your point on that. If that is the case, why have any different running events? Should all athletics be boiled down to the 100m sprint? All swimming just the 100m freestyle? All weight category events gotten rid of? The truth is if bolt could win the 100m sprint and the 1500m race, he would be exalted further than he already is.
@@adammulvihill9004 To be fair, 100m and 1500m are different distances of the same concept. To compare that in swimming it would be like comparing the 100 freestyle to the 1500 freestyle. To compare the different swimming events with running you need to use sprinting and other movements which get you from A to B. But those other movements aren't in the Olympics because they only really care about the fastest movement. It is strange that people care about backstroke and the butterfly events. But if you like them events that's fair enough
Arthur is spot on. Swimming is not weight-bearing so the difference in events of say 100m, 200m, 300m etc is similar to running events being 100m 120m 140m etc

it isnt a crappy quiz unless Adrian is complaining about something.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can't wait to see what major sport Arthur completely dismisses next

He did have a very unusually suitable physiognomy for swimming. Also, swimming does have a tendency to produce big medal hauls for one person.

Wait wait wait… since 2000 there have been 13 Grand Slams out of a possible 23? That makes Grand Slams more likely. Why all this hype then?
