First of all Theo is not a professional interviewer. He is a professional COMEDIAN. Podcasting even maybe could be considered a side gig but in no way is considered a pro interviewer as if he were a journalist.
Sean has never broke down like this, I’m an MMA fan. He used humor to cope prior on many occasions and many times said “I want to kill somebody” but laughing
In the past and present, he repeatedly talks about super heavy stuff while laughing because he doesn't know how to cope with it and communicate about it. I guess it's a shield he puts on
Yes Bobby I agree with what you shared. I know a man like this, he has a strange nervous laugh when life or discussion isn't going there way. It's sad.
You sound like a classic academic who doesn’t understand the world of martial arts. You also clearly haven’t heard Sean Strickland talk outside of this interview.
Why would he understand the world of martial arts? He is an addiction couch? Mental health professional? I’m not sure on the correct terminology. But he says so! He actually asks for feedback bcs he doesn’t know if Sean Strickland talks like this normally, breaks down likes this normally? Did you listen to anything Mr B Addiction Recovery said? Clearly not or obviously you wouldn’t have written this arrogant comment!
Dr.B when a person has tapered down to less than 1mg and stops for days is the eye watering & sneezing normal? Just wondering ? I love you❤ Your so knowledgeable in your field.
I don’t think Theo von is failing to understand what Sean is going through. Theo himself also has had a shitty life and I think he’s just using humor to cope with it all, remember he’s not a professional interviewer, he’s a comedian.
Theo is a comedian who suffered severe neglect as a child. Some highlights : extremely elderly father (late 70s when he was born). Workaholic neglectful mother, sister with life threatening illness and extremely poor. He was emancipated at 14. He isn't going to go into this as a professional would. He is being emphatic but you can see during the whole episode it is affecting him as well. The fact that he doesn't know what to say but wants to get him back to laughing shows how much he relies on humor to cope with uncomfortable situations. He has said before something along the lines of he liked to make people laugh because then he knew he existed. What you are watching is two men who grew up on opposite sides of the abuse spectrum trying to connect with each other. People often open up to Theo because he genuinely wants to understand and connect even if he can't fully let his guard down.
Neither did I! :) But, I am seeing the value as people are interested in these guys and they are a big part of our culture, regardless of how I feel about it all. That said, I may as well use it to give some insight and helpful information for the greater good.
Cut Theo some slack, hes a comedian. this is nothing like most of his pod interviews. I thought he actually handled it OK, given the nature of the situation. Yes he could have done better, Im sure he will the next time. Not perfect but better.I suspect this will be a turning point for Sean because of the interest by pros like you who may reach out to him and help him. This is like a cry for help in many ways.
Theo was irritated by how the interview started and didn't necessarily like the direction Sean was taking it over and over, so by the time this happened Theo was a lil caught of guard or checked out
What on Earth has Sean Strickland got to do with Addiction Of Medicine , he is probably the best striker in the World, he walked through Israel & made him look like a amateur
I dont give you much of an answer because your question in context is so far off that if I were to answer I would be playing into your sandbox. But, if you insist I will respond the answer it deserves: Given my qualifications are plastered everywhere, I ask the following of you....In what technical sense are you asking?
He’s a us licensed and practicing medical doctor of many years. He has multiple clinics and decades treating patients suffering from addiction, physical pain, mental illness, trauma, abuse and difficult circumstances. Agree or disagee he is well qualified. Qualified doesn’t mean correct but he definitely has far more credentials you need.
@@justacollegestudent5147 I usually don't get bothered by comments. I guess depends on my mood. This one really annoyed me. I think here is how it bothered me: Most of the crap on here is just crap. Most people have no idea what they are saying, nor the ethics to consider the impact. I have tried to bring a thoughtful critical approach for the benefit of educating and entertaining. I am ok with being wrong or someone not agreeing. The issue was the hidden criticism was not only ridiculous it was misplaced!!! What "qualifications" does anyone need to banter here? And of all the banter, this guy tries to call me out. I even stated the fact early in the video that I wanted to use this to educate and shed light on. Peace
Incredibly interesting. IMO MMA has destroyed the inherent values of the older martial arts . Trauma - when I started to lot back with help - childhood polio / parents destroyed etc etc . Addiction linkage obvious. The guy has the dough to get treatment- though that’s the bottom line .But I’ve experienced celebrity stuff - sycophants to social isolation. Thanks Dr . 🙏
Since you seem like an honest person that has probably dealt with the medical and pharmaceutical industries - what do you think of the v4x’s for c0v1d? After all this new information is coming out. Also do you agree with quarantining healthy people (everyone) destroying our society even more causing irreparable damage for many people mentally and financially.
Every other doctor I've seen react to this interview, have given Theo a lot of credit for the way he handled the interview. You are the ONLY one who said he didn't do well.
Omg you got it all wrong, this is thr first time strickland opened up, Theo has childhood issues himself so Theo recognized it, SORRY BUT THIS IS A HORRIBLE BREAKDOWN

lol made me laugh. No I haven’t. Does he go into detail like this.
I partly did not intentionally but happy if you gave some insight

Ty. Yes, very much in range
Hayfever and allergies can also cause eyes to water and sneezing.
Just saying!!
I hope you do, interview him.

He made an interview like this about 2 years ago but without crying
Thank you.
Where?
100% spot on! It sounds to me the interviewer has very little empathy for humans in general. 😔
I thought so too
I never would've guessed you'd cover this Dr. B. I believe there must be quite the demographic overlap. Very interesting
Neither did I! :) But, I am seeing the value as people are interested in these guys and they are a big part of our culture, regardless of how I feel about it all. That said, I may as well use it to give some insight and helpful information for the greater good.
Also this man gets hit in the head alot so it doesn't help any of it
He actually doesn't get hit much.
But maybe you watched him more than I have.
@@stebes7857true but idk I think he's got brain damage. Watch his interview when he was really young
I still think he is very intelligent and has insight. Yes head trauma and lack of school. @@bobbyr2972

Ok. That is fine. The concern had to do with history of severe trauma. No one is attacking him.
he walks a very fine line of emotional vulnerability and real machoismo
What exactly are your qualifications do be discussing this?
That is funny. Especially nowadays.

Theo often jokes about having Autism, so that might explain his lack of recognising social clues.

Was he supposed to tell him to shut up? Sean did the same thing on Rogan. If he's comfortable putting himself out there like that, more power to him.
