The anime production definitely outdid themselves. They managed to make the opening that have the very same vibe as the years ago's series. And choosing the very same singer as Platinum was definitely the best choice.

Goodness, Maaya Sakamoto's voice sounds a lot different here then in Platinum. This opening shows off how much anime's appearance has improved as time has went on.

Another reason why it feels nostalgic is because if u closely follow the melody and the way they set it up, it closely resembles "i am a dreamer" in many ways :D

but it means SO much that the opening lyrics to this new OP are about "kaze" (wind) and "tori" (birds) because those were the first two cards (Windy & Fly) Sakura caught right back at the beginning! Ugh their minds!!!

Sorry to disappoint you but first, the song isn't really about wind and birds (it's not because there are the only words that you could understand that it's the case :/). Second, all the openings of the original series had the same themes coming back again and again like the wind, wings, dreams, freedom, love, etc. They only took the old themes and used them for the 1st opening of Clear Card probably to play on the nostalgia and as a logical continuation. It has absolutely nothing to do with Windy and Fly. lol

I still can't believe this sequel made me watch the original Cardcaptor Sakura. Before this came out, I knew nothing of this series.
Mr. Otaku200 The show was debuted exactly 20 years ago (in the year of 1998). You must be young around that time. And believe it or not, many of CCS fans are in their 20s (like me) or even in their 30s.

Same. I didnt watch anime when i was younger (well, except pokemon), but i did start recently. I didnt even know about CCS until i heard about CCS:CC. And its been my absolute favorite, just fell in love with it really hard. I get super excited with every new episode.

I was born in 2007 and I didn't know what anime was back then...I discovered anime when I was 9 or 10 and I wanted to binge watch old anime since it's quarantine and I'm still going to watch other CLAMP shows....So I feel bad for all the people who waited for 20 years just for a sequel while I'm here on my bed binge watching....

Love anime and can't believe I never watched "Cardcaptors Sakura". 18 years later (1 week ago) I thought about this Anime but only remember character images but never watched the show. So I went ahead and checked it out. Before I new it. I watched all 70 episodes in 1 week. Now I'm watching "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card" and I gotta say. This opening is amazingly beautiful.

Appreciate it. Yea, I just watched both Cardcaptor Movies a few days ago. Loved them. After I finished Clear card on Hulu I was sad to find out that they haven't finished the series. It left a cliff-hanger. :(

like the original opening way better.
I really like the style, its modern, bright toned, yet the characters are still true to the story. My 2 favorite openings without a doubt were Platinum and this one. and the crystal style of the anime is fantastic! Something tells me that crystal animation for the anime and style could not had been pulled off in the past, kinda like sailor moon and her crystal, sure looks good in the 90's but that alone looks beautiful thanks to the style and technology nowadays... Overall I love the direction CCS Clear ark is taking

I really cried when I heard the opening song. The memories of childhood suddenly rush back. I am already 22 and I watched CCS when I was 8 or 10 but damn this gives me such a nostalgic feeling. I really love CCS even though I am more on shounen anime. This is the shoujo anime that I will never get tired of.

I used to watch carcaptor sakura on a DVD player with a small boxed TV that my parents gave me that I could put in my room I vividly remember finding the CD of cardcaptor sakura in the CD book we used to have and since I was a simple child seeing a girl that looked like a princess I just had to watch it. I was I belive around 9 or 10 and now I'm in college in my 20's and cardcaptor sakura still makes me feel like a little girl. My childhood was one of the best one's and I would never trade it for anything. 😊

So... this is what perfection looks like.
I remember watching the original series when i was about 4 or 5. It was my first exposure to anime and i'm glad that it was! With it's pretty visuals and innocent romance (ahhh Syaoran and Sakura) it kept me hooked and I ended up religiously re-watching the show ever other year or so. When they announced the sequel I tuned in every week to watch the new episode, and now I'm reading all the manga related to CCS. Can't wait for the next season!

I remember getting the clow book at toyrus, hiding them through my house and then pretending to seal them it was so much fun
I used to do little "crossovers" between real life and various shows including CCS ahhah. We had this huge bucket of water and I'd pretend it was a hole to another dimension. Sealing away cards and helping Sakura do magic stuff was awesome.
Back then i used to imagine that i have sakura magic staff that and pretend to seal any object as a clow card. Lol

It was absolutely confusing. Deserves a remake with a great plot.
@@ryuuotaku35 Thats because both XXX holic and Tsubasa were licensed and made by different studios. The problem was that these two work tie together as a Parallel Story and they severed all connections in both series, except OVA. Its super intricate and both series backstory is connected.
I really love this song and the anime 😍 since I was a kid up until I'm already now 21, still my favorite and it still captures my heart 💗💗💗
As you notice, the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card has the three combinations of the three openings of the first and original Cardcaptor Sakura series. I just love how they mixed and it blended very well in the first opening of Clear Card series.
0:02 The cherry blossoms that Sakura stepped on is the same as the first opening of Cardcaptor Sakura
0:28 The transitions are the same in the 2nd opening of Cardcaptor Sakura. Where Sakura laying on, like she's sleeping.
Lastly, the singer of this opening 0:03, Maaya Sakamoto is also performed and the singer of the third opening song of Cardcaptor Sakura. Which titled "Purachina"/Platinum. The song of this opening "Clear" has the same instrumentals of Platinum, you can hear it at 0:23
It explains why do we feel so nostalgic, it brings back so much memories and we got a "deja vu" for this first opening of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.

I've been a fan of CCS since around 2000, and I find this new series overall pretty.. cute. Started nicely, especially hearing this opening, but as the series progressed.. not the same afterall. It has definitely been made for a new generation. I've found myself returning to the classic for nostalgia. 🌸✨💖
