I am blown away by the value given on this channel. The mindset and philosophy on top of technical knowledge is supreme. Thanks dude!
...fully agree!! ❤
mate you are quickly becoming the best, most refreshing, healthy mindset, high value production/music making channel on RUclips. I absolutely love it thank you. They're all actionable videos that strike at the core of what is needed to produce and do so realistically and healthily. Thank you man you know your shit🙏🙏🙏
This is something I need to hear every now and then, i need to remember why i make music and for me it's just the joy of making music. I'm not chasing for any real success, my success was releasing 3 tracks across most streaming services recently and that alone was scary as hell, to put something out there, but that act alone has given me confidence to release more music even if no one listens to it, that's ok because I did it for me.
Hey bud. I relate to your comment so deeply. 2 years ago, I took the leap and self-released two songs that I had been sitting with for around 3 years prior to that. It was so scary to think that these songs will now exist in the real world. But at the same time, this was the very reason why I started making music in the first place - to leave a legacy that will remain to remind people that I once lived and created in this world
This has been with love djing. Now I have a residency and I’m still doing it cause I love it.
totally relate in 2 years my track has 72 plays made 30cents, but like you it was more a challenge, can I make a track and release it and yes I did, I plan to make more and these vid by @Bthelick help loads.
“It’s not for me or you to decide what’s good, it’s for them” would be a good pre drop vox fill
Our role as music producer is to create music. It's to experiment, to try new things, to do our own thing. Anything else is out of our control. The audience decides if they like it or not.
You have just made me rethink my entire plan for my music production career. Top bloke, thank you so much
I often find I work on a track, am happy with the sound, but then get discouraged when it does not sound as “professional” as my reference tracks. This video was so helpful for me to re-frame the gap in my mind between amateurism and professionalism. Thank you for this, sincerely.
Did you see my 3 simple steps video?
I explain why that happens in that video 👊
This is so true and it's a myth pushed so hard by self-proclaimed music production gurus on YT etc. There is a vast amount of music out there that sounds insanely "professional" - all the EQing and dynamics etc are all spot on and it all sounds shiny and perfect. And the music? Forgettable, generic pap. Way too many would-be engineers, way too few would-be musicians.
More people definitely need to hear this. I certainly did no more than a year ago. I kept getting frustrated at how no labels were interested in signing my tracks because in my eyes they sounded great and my family and friends would agree, but in reality they just weren't good enough!
Also love your take on naive originality, had never heard the phrase before but I like it. So many producers listen to other producers to get ideas and are constantly trying to replicate a certain sound when really you should be trying to INVENT a certain sound.
If you sound amateur, keep practicing, you'll get there 😊
Can’t agree more with finding your own sound. I chase the dragon in hopes of learning to make my own stuff now; not because I’m awesome but because I always fail to replicate the stuff I want to 😅😅😅😅
@@Bittamin maybe you do fail, but you're still awesome! 🤣
@@outrid3r hell yeah, we’re in this together 🙏 HouseHeads Forever! 🙌🕺🪩
I see you!
@MORRILL_MUSIC well hello there! 👋🤣
Needed to hear this. I have 20 years of unreleased music. Going back to it, it's very rarely the mix I have an issue with. If the musical ideas are strong it will stand the test of time. Thanks for your perspective 🙏
very valid points - 'be yourself, everyone else is already taken'
Another quality video. Learnt so much, great value! I and I'm sure many appriciate this channel soooo much!
This was much needed. Thank you once again!
I cannot state how happy I am to have found your channel. Truly inspirational, also the live-mixing of the music did not go unnoticed. Thank you so much!
I needed to hear this, thank you 🙌
Brilliant as always, every single video is giving me something. Thank-you! 😊
you are a blessing to the music community! thanks for all the work you do with these videos
Great video as always :) Love these discussions. Thank you for everything you do for the community!
I've really enjoyed your take on so many different topics. Thanks for all the great videos.
Amazing information Sir take a bow 🙌. Thank you so much.
Your videos are so good and well explained, keep up the great work
This is the best RUclips channel I have ever found in my entire life. Thank you for your content
your content is amazing, thank you !
I love your channel. Your insight really feels like it comes from a place of experience, as well as being clear & precisely explained.
Thankyou. yes, professional musician first, RUclipsr second haha
Dude this is the most inspiring video ive ever seen. Your perspective is such a valuable breath of fresh air. Love the videos man!
So glad I found this channel.. I've learnt so much and added it into my production method 🤜🤛
Your channel is genuine gold
This video gave me chills… thank you
Fun and simple explanation. As usual, thank you!
What a brilliant response to such a common question i see on so many videos. Well said!
this rocks. i love it. thank you
You opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. Thank you for your wisdom
Love these educational highlights from the stream! Still the highest production quality!
you quickly became my favourite music related youtuber and im happily watching every video, please keep going as im sure you will still grow a lot if you do so
Same here. This stuff is so good!
Golden advice mate, cheers bud. This and the vid about the export button solved the puzzle of my 'many years of beat making with no tracks to show for it' situation.
You're giving away the REAL secrets and I have such proper respect for you. You legit helped me reframe my mentality with this. I started making music for all the right reasons and somewhere along the way I got lost in the "sounding professional" trap. I feel like many can relate. Your words helped something click for me so I'm super grateful 🙏 Thank you!!!
I'm so happy i found your channel ❤
Thank you man! Thank you
Nothing less than brilliant the contents of this video ❤
Thank you so much!
Thank you sir. You're great ❤
Never had a video relate to me so much, thank you B for the wise wise words. Huge Help
I've just retired my main sound of the last 7 years (over half a million streams, signed multiple songs to labels) but I was fed up of that same sound and so many of my peers sounded similar so I'm currently trying to come up with something fresh and it's so hard but I've got some great ideas, it's just executing them.
What? Do you realize how bad half a million stream (when you're not making 100%) is in 7 years? It's like, absolutely awful, you're in the bottom 1%.
Thank fuck you smart'd up and chose a better life. That's really, really bad. I started a project 4 months ago that has already 5 doubled you. I've done what you're doing now over 10 times in my life. I sound like an asshole, but you're doing the right thing.
However, ideas are absolutely bullshit. Tell me your best idea.
What a great video !! So many words of wisdom here!! Thank you so much for this!! This is the motivational kick that I needed and was seeking!! I take too much too my heart what other producers think but as u said..it's on audience to say if it's good!! 🖤🙏
Pure Gold! Your channel is brilliant. And you're arrangement style is very interesting. I'm definitely trying that. Brilliant analysis in this video. The correct mindset is now given for all producers.
This arrangement here? 🤣
I wouldn't take it as influence! it's pretty arbitrary and was made to fit the video length!
If you mean my main works then thank you 👊
Pure gold ❤
This is top tier, thankyou
Just found your channel- very helpful, thanks
Thank you!!
Your the best bro. Litterally the best. No one does production advice like you in this world
Thank you, brilliant
Thanks for that!
Awesome, awesome video.
Great perspective
probably the greatest motivational speech I've ever heard!
Thank you… I needed to hear this
top tier content, thank you!
Thank you for a perspective
Best Chanel Ever👌, and as you said...There are no shortcuts🚀
another great video B ~!
Thanks Thomas. I watched the live video again and you were warning me as early as 15 mins in! So sorry I missed the messages
this is exactly what I needed to hear !
You are a blessing on this earth 🌍
You are the man. You are inspirational ❤️ 👏.
So spot on. This Channel is priceless! When is the next live stream? They always lead to such good long conversations.
Thanks. I stream live on the last Sunday of every month, 6pm GMT. 👊
Really really good video how to keep working and do not overthinking
...best advice ever!!! respect
Insane perspective changer🦾💪🏾
Great...as allways!
every video 11/10 thank you !
Thank you very much!
u are simply ridiculous. The way u keep me motivated. Whenever I feel stuck all your videos reminds me to take it one step at a time and that brings back all the fun in producing. All the other other RUclips' teachers 'always make me feel stressed out and they are much less informative because they overcomplicate my journey. So I promised myself to stick to one teacher. BTHEliCK!!!!!!!!
Thanks John. Yeah you gotta keep it fun! Anything you want to sustain beyond a few years has to be fun.
Keep at it you'll be fine 👊
another great video
A massive respect on the thought process and how to use it to a person's advantage. A journey into this thing we have, creating electronic music, such an amazing thing
That was very good explanation
So true, mate. Thank you. Quality content. I always told my students that if they copied my style, they could only ever be the 2nd best me. If they do their own style, they will be number 1.
Feeling very inspired to release my work into the world now, having exactly zero followers not even a year into producing. It's a scary prospect but I'm churning out track after track at the moment having binged watched your channel over the past month. Great content as always, thanks so much for all you do
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏
So glad I sub this channel
I like this perspective
Great video
Apologies for the late upload everyone
No need, you’re a boss 🫡
My goal isn't to try sound like existing artists, but to learn and master genres. As you stated in your video, seeking "professionalism" can be what's holding artists back. I got into music production back in 2011, now I'm 38(m)...and STILL learning lol.
I love this channel so much!! 🍉👨🌾
love this 100% agree
dude i love you
Best channel
Everyone has to start as Amateur that's how you learn 😁thankyou for the awesome tutorial as we all ways learning even for advance users.
Amazing video my man 🙌 I think every artist should watch this at least once regardless of their "level". Very real and motivational. On another note, is the track in the video out anywhere?! What a vibe!
Well, it was the best motivational video i've ever seen
thank you
Wise words
I was one of those people on the stream asking where I could submit a track for some feedback from you and your community. However the response i got, along with what's been said in this video is probably the best feedback i could have got for me at this time, as I feel it's important to be original and naive, there are many strengths in that. I look at it from another angle that it may help to hone my craft as a unique individual as everyone is different, and a couple people saying the same thing or how they'd do something, but different demonstrations of that one thing could lead to further knowledge of getting to the end goal for that certain objective, ultimately resulting in a better outcome, knowledge and growth; And also networking!
Great job as always & one of the best videos from you @Bthelick !!
Thanks Sean , sorry for the mess up and I'm glad you got value from it 🙏👊
As always great video. Love to see your face one day 😊
Loving the track on this vid too, love to see the breakdown on this too. How many sugars do you have in your coffee ?
Haha thanks, my face is online here and there. (The reason I started my Insta profile was to log my trip to Nashville back when I was song writing there)
These days I have 2 stevia sweeteners in coffee/ tea because I'm old 🤣
@@Bthelick hehe brilliant. Thanks again for the videos 🙏🏻
Sound advice (excuse the pun). Loving the background track too.
Thank you again for the knowledge. Hope you will have a session of feedback and roasting soon. Next Time i share my tracks ✌️
Great video. Might just release the 2 tracks that I thought "aren't as good" :)
What an inspiring video, subscribed. As for the ducks, I'd let them free to the closest body of water because I love ducks.
Great video as always. Are you releasing the song that was playing in background? I was vibing
Thank you. Yes it's in the queue, I made it on the multi tonal principle that we talked about in the deadmau5 video. Keep an eye out 👊👍
More arrangement videos please!
Don't copy this one, I just knew I needed around 9 minutes for the script 🤣🤣
I think if everyone is using the same plug-ins and using the same side chain in techniques and the same vocal effects, we end up with everything sounding the same
The beauty of the music from the past it was very individual
And techniques in the studio varied
Really needed this video after bombing with the most embarrassing techno DJ of my amateur career so far, being too scared to play some of my own tracks live. Thank you for all that you do my man ♥️
Hey it happens. At least you got to try it live that's an opportunity most don't get, and the best possible feedback you can learn from
