Jeremiah 17:10 KJV: "(I the Lord search the heart) I try the reins..." - Guzik's "I test the mind" is a misleading translation, as this statement by John A. Thompson attests (included in Guzik's commentary): “A second word is here set in parallel to heart - literally, ‘kidneys’, hidden depths. These, Yahweh assays or ‘tests’…" If you reject "I try the reins", wouldn't "I test (or try) the soul" be better than "the mind"?
