Today we will see the parachute technique for a single tooth, although we can isolate multiple dental organs with it, it is used more often when we want to work a single tooth, for this video we will begin by testing the coltene W56 clamp /, as some You already know a clamp with the letter w means wingless. It is also a universal clamp, which means that we can use it both in the mandible and in the maxilla. We always start lingual, once we obtain two dental support points, we rotate slightly on the tooth and place the vestibular face. Always taking care not to press the tissues unnecessarily. We slide slowly until we contact two points on the buccal side. We can check the stability of the clamp by making some movements with the clamp holders and again with the fingers towards the buccal and lingual. We repeated the test on the clamp arch and jaws. Although the parachute technique is not one of my favorites, we can take advantage of it when we have, for example, a very prominent tongue or a very vestibularized tooth where we need good vision when placing the clamp. Once we place the clamp and we know that it is the right one, we place the rubber dam with the help of our assistant or on our own, we press in the place where the drilling will be made, taking care to place a point in the middle of the chosen piece that we are going to work with. We drill a hole in the first hole of the drill which, as we know, serves as an anchor or as a main clamp. We pass the jaws of the clamp leaving the bow on one side and the jaws on the other. It is important to check at this point that the rubber dam is not caught in the tips of the jaws. In the same way as we tried at the beginning, we place the patient in a position that allows us to observe the lingual aspect of the molar and we first carry the lingual beaks and rotate towards the buccal. Once this is done, we take the tips of the rubber dam and separate trying not to get lost and with a blunt instrument or with our fingers we pass the rubber dam under the beaks. With the tips well separated from the rubber dam, we bring the bow and tighten the rubber well starting with the corners and then the middle parts, trying not to create too many wrinkles and distribute the tension evenly. Now we will make a modification to the technique. We start in the same way by testing our clamp, we remove it and tighten the rubber dam and mark the place where we will drill. At this point it is exactly the same but what we will do now is create a kind of map to create, prior to removing the arc, the location of the stress points to which we will return later. For this we will use two colors, one will mark the points of tension near the chin and for the others we will use another color, in this case I chose black for those that are closer to the chin and pink for the others. We first mark the ones near the chin and then the furthest ones. By removing the rubber from the arch we will obtain a kind of map that will help us not to get lost during the repositioning of it. It should be noted that normally I do not remove the arch until the drilling is done, in this case I do it so that they can see the kind of map or layout that we obtained. Once we pierce and pass the staple through the rubber, we take it to the mouth in the conventional way. First by lingual, followed by vestibular. And now it is time to use the map that we drew, when we stretch the dam rubber we will see our marking but before placing the arch we must remember to pass the rubber under the beaks, now we only have to make the marks coincide with our arch.
