Gears started spinning with my finger back there when mirror clicked in. Lol, and a picture came out. Camera still isn’t working but I’m guessing it’s from the film pack being old and most likely not having battery. But I can see thru viewfinder and close camera now! Thx for saving me. Hopefully a fresh pack of film will have it working
Many times, intermittent power is being supplied (or the battery voltage is too low) and so the mirror can be stuck mid-cycle. Other cases I've seen as a technician are sometimes related to switches in the camera not tripping to tell the camera where it's at in the cycle.
I had this same issue but the motor kept spinning without moving the gears. I opened it up and found the little plastic drive shaft broken. I extended the spring from the motor to the shaft across from it and it began to spin the gears just fine. Ive shot a dozen packs no issue since!
For me it didn’t work, the mirror did not move any way as I rotated the gear. Any other solutions? Anyway, thanks for the video, I know this helps in some cases with mirror-up
@@artiemilano378 It definitely is a long process with all the body panels on the camera, you can only turn that thing a few teeth at a time without really chewing up your finger.

You'd be surprised if you didn't spin in long enough. I had to spin mine for 7 minutes straight.

Friend I did this but the mirror seems to be loose on my camera will I have to open it? I did this video procedure but got no result.
If your mirror is moving around a lot in your camera, that will require taking off at least the bottom panel and seeing what's come loose.
Mine solved itself just by reinserting the film cartridge
