Years after an unspeakable tragedy tore their lives apart, two sets of parents (Jason Isaacs and Martha Plimpton, Reed Birney and Ann Dowd) agree to talk privately in an attempt to move forward. In Fran Kranz’s writing and directing debut, he thoughtfully examines their journey of grief, anger and acceptance by coming face-to-face with the ones who have been left behind.

If this movie doesn’t get at least one Oscar nomination, the academy might as well stop holding the awards altogether. Possibly one of the greatest movies of all time, just in how it showcases our divisive/ isolated times and the debate on guns and mass shootings in America. I cried the whole way through. It’s definitely a depressing movie, but if you feel up to the challenge, give it a watch. It’s incredible.
Jason Isaacs has said quite candidly that small independent films don't get promotion, don't get in front of the eyes of the people that matter, so don't get awards. He even mentioned he's on an awards panel himself, and when presented with 100 movies to watch, he can't watch them all, so probably only watches the 4 or 5 everyone else is talking about. Reality, unfortunately.
It didn't. I would replace ann dowd with most of the supporting nominees any day. Shame on oscar
Unfortunately it didn’t it should have been nominated for Best Original Screenplay in my opinion
Acting was truly amazing all around.. I think Anne Dowd is one of the finest actresses of our time.
reed birney's lines delivery is just so on point
Ann Dowd hands down!
Jason Isaacs does a great American accent
Smart dialogue
beautiful movie, hope it gets some oscar nods
Where can this be seen
Hulu
Great dialogue, great acting, terrible camera work
did u ever care to think that the camera moves were intentional? rlly revolutionary idea huh?
Handheld/shaky cam might’ve been intentional to illustrate the rising tension/uneasiness of the the scene.
I think it was with the intent to add the feeling of uneasiness and tension to the scenes.
