I love that the item build works well with both builds so you can pivot based on your team comp. No healer? Dragon Pulse time. Blissey/Comfey/Clef? Time to drown the field in muddy waters
I carry my team as umbreon, blastoise and goodra occasionally. Blocking objectives, providing vision, initiating team fights especially Ray and knowing when to back off, etc. In return, when I play attackers I get defenders who backcap, solo farm, don't run xp share, hide BEHIND ME (a squishy gardevoir/dragapult), and somehow have like 4 assists at the end of the match (never visiting team fights might be why!) People always clown the "meme bad" players (cinderace, greninja) but not enough talk about how bad a huge chunk of solo defenders are.
Man, that was a good Pika you had on your team there. Nice when your attackers actually take advantage of your tanking and go on the offense. I feel like I often get the attackers who go "ok, tank is here to block for me, I'll just leave."

Im a defender/all rounder main. I love playing muddy water Goodra, but “the Goodra effect” is real. Its just not good unfortunately. It can do some work, but it cant carry like something like Lapras or Blastoise can. Relies heavily on your team skill level, more-so than other defenders even.
@@Brisingr26 Id agree. If you have a solid healer and a solid carry, Goodra is great. Your team has to play tight though. If theyre all scattered, you feel useless as Goodra.
As I am climbing through master 1400+ (not crazy high but still decent player pool) with a 60+% winrate, i think why people underestimate goodra's toolkit is because there are certain aspects of the mon that people just arent taking full advantage of. Goodra's movement speed debuff on her boosted auto is deadly in the right hands, and is built for hard chasing. Paired with the extra slow on the whip, that also changes the position of mons on the map at will, and X speed to close distance, it feels like its actually built to counter kite mons. So her playstyle isnt made for hard CC on the whole team like other Defenders, she's built for chasing and locking down the other teams jungler, so your team can fight 4v4 with out the enemy team's main secure. It works for me at least 😅

Goodra is overbuffed. Just make the whip pull regardless of sweet spot and lower beams heal by like 15% so he doesn't just get all his hp back. And increase the cooldown of his passive. That way he will still be good just not immortal. And it will bring him down to the same lv of other defenders.
