- An all-new BMZ Z4 Roadster has hit the streets. But it seems like the only time you hear about it is when people refer to it as sharing its basic chassis with the reborn Toyota Supra. Well, we’ve been Z4 fans since it first arrived for 2004. And, despite a dwell in production, we think this 20-20 Z4 deserved its own time in the sun.

He does a great job but I hope he doesn't go on another 20 years for his sake. He's been on motorweek nearly 40 years.

I just love how cars are reviewed here. You get relevant info on the car. Other reviewers go over every nook and cranny of the cars they review. Criticize every design features of a car and review car as if we are all buying cars to race. Sure we like performance but most of them other reviewers are just plain overkill. Here it is to the point and honest. Been watching for many years!!
Have been a Motorweek fan for decades. Nice review of this 2 seater BMW. I don’t understand why the 1/4 mile benchmark has been replaced by 0-60. 20 years ago 1/4 mile times were the go to spec for speed and power. 0-60 doesn’t tell you as much.
Neither is really significant.
You probably will never speed up to 100mph in city or anywhere so 1/4mile is not important.more important is maybe acceleration from40 to 80 for overtakeing.
If you would have asked me "what car company's most likely to partner up to make a car" back in 1994, BMW and Toyota would have been the last guess🤣

I'm surprised they didn't talk about the exhaust sound, which is VERY loud, crackling pops and whatever else they could throw in.

@@Kingsoupturbo Yeah, I totally agree! It takes me right out of the buying equation. Proof in point was a BMW salesman called me because I had driven the 30i Z4 and liked it but wanted to wait. I saw a vid with the M Z4 and the noise was bad enough for me to turn down a drive in one when the salesman offered. He was bummed...
@@goofydog2 Interesting! how was the 30i to drive? it should have user selectable exhaust to keep it quiet when you want too and open it up maybe when you're out in the countryside with nobody to annoy!
Only in sport setting. Otherwise quiet.

Chef Bojan it’s in the low 12’s, and it won’t take much to get an extra 80hp/100tq out of that turbo 3liter with a tune, & down pipe

E89 is still my favorite but warming up to this generation.

Too bad it didn't come out closer to the badass concept and they should have kept the hard top and smaller rear windows from the E89. Looks good top down but the E89 looks better top up.

Body size equal the H.P. & Torque sounds like this car could ripp. I would wait for a pre ~ owned one like they say never buy the first new body style there are always quirks.

I don't like the front end of this Z4. I love that it nbn has the B58 engine but I would have liked it better in a hardtop version. Please BMW, revamp it! As much as I love BMW, that front end is hideous.
I find it the most attractive since the Z4M Coupe.
Looks better in person and miles better than the new Supra. Supra is tuned to be faster though and not a convertible!

BMW should boost their standard equipment and stop charging for things that should be in every model. Take a simplified approach like Tesla.
BMW’s have always been ripoffs. My mom has a 2016 X3 and it cost $50,000 and doesn’t have stuff a $25k Camry has.

We always wear helmets when we bring vehicles to the track. It's a safely precaution since we are going at high speeds.
