Fortunately though the producers weren’t allowed to destroy high end cars as they aren’t now. You can be sued by manufacturers for destroying high end cars and you will never be able to own one. That stood strong with the Countach and Testarossa, and the reason Enzo Ferrari told them he wanted the replica Daytona Spider at least destroyed on an episode if they wouldn’t actually destroy it because it was insulting his car using a C3 Corvette chassis and 350 engine to replicate one of his far more liked automobiles (at the time the Corvette was more so disliked in a way). He gave them two Testarossas and a few DeTomaso Panteras og his choice out of his personal collection that could be used as Testarossa stunt cars but never to be replicated in scenes that didn’t involve the car being hit or damaged (as many scenes did). Keep in mind he gave them two of his new cars to help promote sales of the Rossa and a handful of his personal DeTomaso Panteras (including a now obsolete GTS) to use as stunt cars. Lamborghini wouldn’t even allow them to use a Countach or instead of the Testarossa Crockett would have had a Countach LP5000 QV S.

Of course there was no way a Daytona keeps up with a Countach like that but then again, there's no way a Countach drives in Miami like that and still has its undercarriage after two blocks.
The screenshot for this video (happens at 1:52) was later used as one of the stencils laid on top of the credits sequence for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

The Lamborghini Countash is one of legendary, iconic status. To this very day it would still stand out among other sports cars. It was a car which could only be driven on certain roads because of how low it was. No expense was spared.

Watched this episode over the weekend. Brilliant episode
Lots of fantastic shots of the countach driving in a straight line. Which is where it excels. Notice there wasn't a whole lot of shots of the car taking corners because it doesn't handle very well but in my opinion the coolest looking car ever made, especially with that spoiler, every kid's dream in the 80s and a fantastic car for driving fast in a straight line.

Fake Ferrari and two different Lamborghini
While it looks obvious they used different models in between shots (taillights) they could get away with it back then due to low resolution TVs .. most of the chase would have been a blurry mess lol

Always loved this chase. For the car freaks here like me, notice they use two diff Lamborghini Countach in this chase. One's a 5000, one is a 5000S. How do I know? Check the back of the Lambo. Sometimes it's got the diamond shape taillights, sometimes the narrow rectangle and the narrow ones are the 5000S.
It's actually astounding how the tailights change every 5 seconds lol. That's a lot of editing.
@@Win7ermu7e Yep, like I said above, two very diff Lambo Countachs were used. The chase was filmed several times out on the streets and then across the causeway a number of times. The city streets were Park Ave, Dade Blvd, I think down Washington Ave and then speeding across the Venetian Causeway. I may have missed a street or two.
Yup. The shots from outside of the cars are the S. The ones from Crockett's car are the regular.
