I watched these when I was a kid and now that I am 70 they still make me laugh out loud...and the scripts are masterpieces...
Stan Freberg's voice acting (and singing) -- genius.
The "wolf song" was the metaphorical kind of magic.
He never worked for Jay Ward.
That’s actually Daws Butler
Whew. Now I know why I ran home to see this! The best of times Lol to all Bobby O
Foley artists! Vocalizations priceless.
Saw these fairy tales when they first came out and am now enjoying them once again. Thanks for the posting. Joe S
Wow that shepherd really knows her stories.
I just love the delivery and timing on "The big rabbit is gone."
Kudos to Daws Butler!
Everybody needs a fairy Godmother
Believe it or not, this one was actually based off a real fairy tale--it just happens to be a rather obscure one. I learned that after reading it in Andrew Lang's Blue Fairy Book.
So, they foresaw ankle bracelets.
At the time :“that’s just a fairytale”It would never happen in the United States.
😎5:21 Totally Cool, very original meaning of the wedding ring which I really like.
LOL over the song he sings at 4:19!
I really like the "Tales" that are a bit more original vs parody (of course I really like the parodies too)
It is a parody. This is actually based on an obscure French story called "Prince Cheri/Darling."
5:01 The funniest part of the whole cartoon.
Originally seen on "ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS" in 1960.
The reason this one is so unusual is that it's a abridged version of a story from the "Blue Fairy Book".
Whats unusual about that?
Hmmm...extreme use of background music...obviously directed by veteran Gerald Baldwin in Hollywood and not by the ususal TVS or Gamma.
This reminds me of a book I had growing up called Princess Bertram The Bad.
So clear and immediate consequences for your bad behavior make you a better person?
Why not?
That moment when you see a cartoon that rings every bell in your head and you remember watching this in your lower single digit age.
Prince darling certainly was a handsome chap !
😊.
Hi that was good!
Arsonists are awesome! Prince Darling loves playing with fire therefore, he's an arsonist. :)
Maybe Jim Backus voiced the King.
+Jim Jasion No, it was Daws Butler, too.
Oucheroo on the ring idea
Prince Darling or Prince Cherry.
I was not to be taken out mf Derby. I did very well
i love the music as a rapper, i will sample it
Did you ever get around to sampling it?
