As someone who is planning on getting into the NVG scene for safety during urban exploration, this is exactly the type of solution I was looking for. Mobility and avoiding conflict altogether is the priority! Your channel is an incredibly pleasant place, thanks for these videos.
Sup man. I keep my pvs 14 in an Arbor arms padded nvg case, which doesn’t close or lock, so I slide the whole pass into a SLNT faraday dry sling bag, so it’s protected from rain, moisture, and EMPs lol. And I just fold up my nightcap and put it either in my pocket or in a bag that I have with me that has water and so on in it.
The biggest issue I have with the Cry Nightcap is: I wear glasses. I am blind without them, myopic AF, anything past 9cm is blurry. So, the problem with wearing glasses is the nightcap chin-straps. The two are in conflict with one another.
I feel you. A couple things I learned while I was in. I had to the opportunity to use those old skull crushers over the course of a few nights (they suck btw). I would keep glasses in my shoulder pocket and just refocus the night vision. Now, if we had to white light there was fumbling and putting glasses on which was not cool. But if you are gonna be using NV long term for navigation at night purposes...You don't need the glasses.
@@spencer7197 Well, that's glasses for you! :D It's annoying but I have learned the things that could cause issues, such as shacking head and sudden movements. If I had to organize everything based on my eye-sight I wouldn't be doing anything. But anyway, the nightcap is pretty nice and can even fit in a back pocket.
Yesterday I finally ordered my first tube; a night star 2x42 gen 1….. would I have been better off going for the NVG-10 at twice the price…? Let me know your thoughts.
If you are going to be walking around with night vision, your night vision device should have no magnification. Otherwise, it will be like walking around while looking through a pair of binoculars.
I need a solid from people who know. I am a traditional kinda guy and on a budget with a family.. I don’t earn six figures.. I need a budget set of night vision systems to consider.. what do you guys suggest? I’m not new to anything in the realm of firearms or gear… it’s just the night vision I am not versed with..
Currently there are two to consider The nightfox prowl or NVG10 (they are roughly comparable) Sightmark Wraith 4k 1x monocular The wraith is an objectively better device than either of the two in almost all aspects other than battery life (only 2h) The wraith's USB port is not waterproofed so while you can power it using an external pack this is then a weak point Then again none of these devices are really rated for rain anyway The prowl is significantly better than the NVG10 in frame rate consistency but the screen is only 360p which will hamper your ability to identify targets The NVG10 has a good screen res but it lacks frame rate stability The wraith has both good screen res and frame rate stability but it costs a lot more ($750 standard)

Will you come back and make new videos?
Love my nightcap. Once i got it tuned up and with counterweight its just as comfy as a helmet setup.
The Sensei has spoken.

@VonRichtburg Shoot, for our purposes a tactical monocle would be a lifesaver lol
I would suggest that LASIK is probably a better investment than night vision for you
I got a locking padded bong case for my NVGs off Etsy. It's got room for my G24 and the Nightcap.

Then again none of these devices are really rated for rain anyway

Iv thought about the night cap but decided on a string bag to carry my helmet and nvg. So transport is easy no one knows and takes seconds to deploy
