Actually, Karera is a very famous song and got even have awards. Most of us bloom were hooked by this song because of its meaning AND WE LOVE how long this music is. I think it didn't have a lot of views in it's MV like the others because we only listen to it when we are down and want to be motivated and this song really hits different.
and it didn't really "popped off" because it's a predecessor of pantropiko which propelled bini to what they are now. it still is a popular song, yet it didn't really get the opportunity of the virality since after pantropiko, salamin salamin and then cherry on top was released. sometimes replayability/length of the song does not directly influence a song being trendy, heck there are tons of good short songs but not really known by the public. it's unfortunate because karera is my top 3 bini song!!
@@aaronaustria608 karera is my #1 Bini song but I understand what these guys are saying. They thoroughly explained why it didn't pop off and they meant that why karera was not the should've been a cherry on top for them that time
I realized I might not be in RUclips's good graces since this genre isn't usually my thing, but honestly, I don't care because this song has captured my attention. I'm totally obsessed with it!
Karera is actually considered by BINI as their baby and most Blooms if not all ranks Karera as # 1. 99M streams on Spotify. 3rd most streamed song of BINI after Pantropiko and Salamin salamin.
Its not actually just ABS-CBN entirely behind their music. One of the members have said in a recent interview that different producers send them music and all the members sit down and listen to everything and then they decide collectively with their team on what songs they want to do. And you're right ABS-CBN deserve credit for actually putting in money into a group and training them properly and not just putting out a group for the sake of having one. BINI's popularity and virality didn't actually just come from their songs, it is also because their personalities are found relatable by the general public. A lot of videos of them being funny, real and relatable had millions of likes and views on tiktok (I think a lot of them got taken down now due to copyright) because casual people just loved watching "celebrities" share the same humor and act like them. That's why even though not everyone would listen to their music every time, a lot of casual people still know about them and are even following them on social media.
Pantropiko introduced me to Bini but Karera made me stay. Although it might not be viral, i think this song has helped strengthen and expand their fandom which is really necessary for an artist to not be a one-hit wonder. But, maybe its just me, but i hate when songs don't even reach 3mins.
Lots of foreign RUclipsrs who react to music have been loving "Karera," and many even say it's their favorite song from the Filipino girl group BINI. One guy, who usually only reacts to European songs for the Eurovision Song Contest, got a request from a viewer to check out BINI. At first, he wasn't sure about it, but as soon as he heard "Karera," he was hooked! He thought it was amazing and even said it could have been a great entry for Eurovision... until he realized it's not from Europe!
These two white dudes dont know what they are talking about. Every foreign youtuber who reacted to BINI will say that this is their fave song from them. And one reason? Not just the message and melody but the actual length of the song which is anti kpop. These two want to sound authoritative about Pinoy musix when in reality they have a very limited understanding on why BINi became a cultural phenomenon -- because again they are the anti idol group, they are not molded in the typical idol image. These two have a shallow take on topics they talk about. Their girl group would probably not resonate with the people because they will create them in their white male image. Cultural context is key, music is just a part of if, you need to tap to the cultural veins of the people for you to resonate.
Correction, Karera also became a hit. If you check the streaming numbers on any platform, it has millions of streams. For more information, the top 5 BINI songs that became hits and made it to the Billboard Philippines chart are Lagi, Karera, Pantropiko, Salamin Salamin, and Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi. However, it's actually more than that. When the general public discovered BINI, they dug deeper into their discography, from their first album to their latest. Almost all their songs gained massive streams during their peak across all music platforms, including views, streams, and sales.
Binis karera is such a vibe. the song itself doesn't need for people to be a fan of bini to appreciate it, even if people that aren't fan can actually enjoyed it and can actually blast it in their cars ❤
This song caught many people off guard. Including me and how it made me an instant fan. Because at first impression BINI's songs are bubble gummy pop types. So when they encounter this for the first time thats when they will realize that BINI also made a phenomenal and inspirational song. This might sound like funny but Karera did help a lot of people to fight in life for some reason. It's something like chemistry stuff that reacts on your body to be motivated when this pop off in your spotify lol. Personally thats how I rate how great a song is. Its on how it impacts on somebody's life. Not just a short dopamine rush music like what you were saying that they should make this song shorter on 2-3 mins to go over the top. This song doesn't need that, its perfectly made to showcase what they are about. Its long because they can do it. They perform. Mostly popular mainstream songs are short yes thats true but mostly you only could listen to it repeatedly 10 days at maximum and get over with it. Worse forget it. Karera is a masterpiece because it is not like that. This is a song that will always sound great no matter how long of time have and will pass.
agree!! i hate how nowadays we try to push short songs for replayability/market value but a lot of it are stale, basic, and no essence. music, i believe in its core, should move people and karera did it.
Hey, guys. There is a BINI ACAPELLA COMPILATION video you should check out. I think it's something you'll appreciate. It's got the girls' vocal warm ups, live acapellas, harmonization and even breath training while they do calisthenics. It's all outside the studio, raw recorded singing 🙂
Bini is not just performers but personalities. A lot of people think that bini is so good in singing and dancing thats why they are famous but no. In the philippines where good singers are everywhere and singing contests are being broadcasted on noontime shows you need to have more than that to achieve what bini has achieved. You need to have a good story and a very entertaining personality. These girls didnt just woke up when they are 20 yeat olds and decided to be performers, they started training really young like 15-16 years old just like sb19.
These fwo white dudes will never understand. They talk like white messiah. They have to listen first to the people and the culture for them to understand that talent alone will not be enough. Their girl group will probably not resonate with the people because they will create them in their image. Weve been colonized enough to understand people who think we should be the ones listening to outsiders.
Almost all reactors that likes them actually love the fact that their songs are long. It became an edge of them specially in this time where everybody creates shorter and shorter songs. Also, the meaning of the song is Life is not a race and to take it slow so it being longer actually make sense. With the song not popping off, it actually is fan's most favorite song of them, like if you do a survey most will say Karera.
Hey Producers, just correcting you: it's actually one of Bini's top performing songs (3rd most streamed after Pantropiko and Salamin on Spotify) :) sure it didnt go viral, but the song had legs and is always being played in special occasions like graduation events or anything ceremonial because of it's timeless message. It basically became every highschool's graduation performance song lol. I like the fact that this song didn't need to be viral on tiktok to be a hit.

The fact that the song is longer than most songs they do is what i love about it. But i do agree it isnt a song that will instantly go viral. It’s a song you appreciate when you hear it more than once, and it is way better when heard live. The wish bus performance of Karera is so good!
I think that's what they're referring to when they were talking about a ballad-ish wish bus performance that unfortunately ended up with a crappy audio so they were not able to upload it.

You should watch Bini's Bata Kaya Mo with Player Two by Coke Studios. Also Icon for Penshoppe and Blooming, also from Coke Studios. I started to like Bini because of Pantropiko and then Cherry on Top, this and Lagi Performance video. Karera dance practice is the best. And i dont mind it being a long song. What I also like mostly about Asian pop artists is that they dont have to reveal much skin to be liked unlike most Western groups. Just all about the talent and music. Never mind if the producer produced a long song. It is not always about the money.
Excerpt from the reaction: -Bini is the standard for POP IDOL groups -Sb19 is like a group of artists. They're different and very eclectic. -Whereas BINI's like traditional IDOLS. 24:30 I agree. From a Filipino standpoint that understands the lyrics I don't really feel like this song is long because it's such a joyride song BUT if you rely on statistics, majority of people would not invest more time for a long song especially if they don't understand (language barrier) what the song is about even if it's a catchy song. Statistics is the king.
@@mervz-l3kIt makes sense because, in my opinion, this is the best anti-drop song I have ever heard in my life. However, I find it too serious and somewhat awkward to play around others due to its message. I believe the extended section was likely created for a dance break, and the transition from the rap part to the chorus is, in my view, flawlessly executed.
BINI_ph is leading the charge in taking PPOP to new heights, not only in the Philippines but on the global stage. They're proving that PPOP isn't just a local treasure, but a genre that deserves worldwide recognition. With their undeniable talent, hard work, and passion, BINI_ph is uplifting the genre and paving the way for a future where everyone, no matter where they're from, can find a place in the spotlight. NO ONE gets left behind when PPOP is this powerful! 🙌✨ #PPOP #BINI #GlobalStage #PPOPRISE
The bridge is a dance break, and actually, if you see the dance break in that part, the musicality is top-tier. It’s a true dance break, not the usual idol dance break that idols typically do. BINI focuses on musicality, which is one of the things that sets them apart from others. I can’t believe you guys missed that part. Usually, BINI’s foreign fans really like Karera. I’ve seen their Spotify Wrapped, and Karera is their number one song.
Actually its not because the song is long and did not blow up before its because PPOP is not big and well known before here in Philippines. And BINI Really work hard, keep creating good music for them to be in this big right now😊
The BINI songs that made me an official bloom are "Karera", "Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi" and "8". Their songs that have deep meaning and absolutely eargasms are hard to forget 😌
The bridge is when the dance break happens and if you watch them perform it it is not boring at all! That is actually when the crowd is most hyped (I suggest you watch them perform live in concert). :) But I do get what you mean. As it is the track is not very 'radio-friendly' because of its length and it makes the most sense to cut off that part.
I've been thinking what if ABS-CBN was not shutdown in 2020. They were the largest and number 1 media company in the country, but the government did not renew their franchise. Because of that they lost billions of pesos in revenue and had to lay off thousands of its employees. If it didn't happen, I think that Bini would have been bigger than they are today.
25:43 I would argue that Karera is not a song meant to go viral and that 5 minutes is perfect for that song. It's a song meant for a specific mood that you can always go back to whenever you need it. If you understood the message of the song, you'd know what I'd mean. Karera is a song you'll always go back to whenever you feel down or if life is getting a bit too difficult. In a sense, Karera is a song made for long-term sustainability rather than viral impact. If the song was way shorter, it might not send its intended message across. The length of it makes you savor every moment and keep you in that specific mood you want to get. Just like RUclips content creators, there are certain content that you would want to go viral very quickly, but these videos would get stale just as quick as well. In music, these are your 2.5-3 minute songs that you could listen to over and over but stop listening to at some point when something new pops up. But for Karera, it's like the old inspirational talk you've listened to that was uploaded way back in 2011 but still hits it right in the feels today and thus you go back to it over and over again when you need it. It's what we would call in marketing as "evergreen" content.
And it's the same with Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi. It's a song you listen to for the feels. If that song was shorter, it'll be counterintuitive to what the song is trying to convey. So it's another BINI evergreen song.
GKD, I hope you dig deeper into BINI to understand them better. It seems like you still don’t know the girls well, and you only know a little bit of information about them. Also, "Karera" means that life is not a race; it’s an inspirational song, so the pacing is intentional. I hope, bro, you open the subtitles to understand the lyrics. Anyway, I’ll share some information about the girls and how people love them. BINI’s music gives a good mood to most listeners. To add some context, BINI's bubblegum pop sound is exactly the same as OPM pop from the 2010s. It’s not from K-pop because that genre already existed in the '90s, and it’s the exact sound of OPM pop, especially songs like Salamin, Salamin. In Philippine music, being talented and a good singer is not enough-you need charisma and personality to win people’s hearts. That’s where BINI shines the most among all the groups. They break the idol standards where most idols need to be like angels. The traditional idol image contradicts what you said-BINI breaks that standard. They show who they are. They show their weaknesses, tears, laughter, sacrifices, and victories-even in the small things. Many Filipinos relate to their personalities. I suggest you get to know them better so you can truly understand them. Also, I want you guys to watch BINI's Starhunt journey with BGYO, which is available on RUclips, so you can understand how the girls were created and follow their timeline. It's not because of SB19, as some fandoms claim. That’s not true. BINI started auditioning in 2018 and began training in April 2019, while SB19 became viral in September 2019. That means people still didn’t know SB19 at that time, but BINI had already been training, just like other groups such as 1st One, ALAMAT, and MNL48. These are OG groups; they are essentially the first generation of idol groups. It just so happens that SB19 debuted earlier than them, while MNL48 was the first to debut.
I think ABS really has many good songs in them just hidden waiting to be out because I remember when they still have thier own franchise they have this song writting contest every year that really gave way to new song writters to be seen and discover!
Cebu is the bedrock of singers. The members dance crews from this area can fairly sing at a level of kpop talents. Go there, find young tall slim dancers, they are the best teens to be trained for pop group acts.
A person privy to the financials of abs told me total investment to date for BINI is now at 110 million which is still way below the figures that the KPOP companies pour on a new idol group. that being said I dont think there is any other company (local) that is capable and financially able to invest that amount of money for a PPOP group, even SB19 cannot invest the same amount of money as of the moment. I think that’s where the bottle neck is, money, time, investment and world class team makes for a mainstream (internationally) ready idol group.
i agree with everything you guys said, i think the reason you guys said that the "bridge" part of the song is boring is bcoz it's actually a "dance break", it means there's no vocals/singing on that part of the song.
It means they don’t understand it 😂 I can't believe they missed that. I thought they were high-caliber producers, yet even regular reactors noticed that the bridge part is a dance break.
Totally agree with you.SB19 are artist not idols. As I'm not into bubble gum pop, but "Karera" made me a fan of BINI. I believe ""Karera's secret is its message. I love their vocals and their synchronized choreo. "Strings" and "Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi" are the other two songs I like from them. But I also like most of the Sb19 songs just because of their message and uniqueness.

🎧🌴 Thank you! Love them both - SBini19.
This song had like 350k views 10 months ago. Ppop was and still is (outside Bini and SB19) massively underappreciated in the country.
Thats shirt though 🔥
Eeeeyyyyyyyy 🤙🤙🤙
Watching from Kuwait ❤️❤️❤️
Karera is my fav. Song of bini🥹 thanks for reacting 😊
Please react to their "Born To Win" MV, "Kapit Lang" MV and "No Fear" ❤
The bridge is a dance break, and actually, if you see the dance break in that part, the musicality is top-tier. It’s a true dance break, not the usual idol dance break that idols typically do. BINI focuses on musicality, which is one of the things that sets them apart from others. I can’t believe you guys missed that part. Usually, BINI’s foreign fans really like Karera. I’ve seen their Spotify Wrapped, and Karera is their number one song.
Dance practice and wish bus too😊
Thank you for doing this
OMGGG FINALLYYŸYYYYYY
Actually its not because the song is long and did not blow up before its because PPOP is not big and well known before here in Philippines. And BINI Really work hard, keep creating good music for them to be in this big right now😊
Pink floyd have also several songs of +-6 mins and 7+ mins. lenghts..but yeah, these days music listeners have different preferences than those days.
I love the song for what it is
The BINI songs that made me an official bloom are "Karera", "Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi" and "8". Their songs that have deep meaning and absolutely eargasms are hard to forget 😌
a 4-minute song for a title name Karera just make sense for me hahha still my fave BINI song. 💓
Yes, everybody has their own preferences peace yowwwwwww😅😂. Love honest people like these reactor❤

You'll feel the fandom #blooms on this 😂
The bridge is when the dance break happens and if you watch them perform it it is not boring at all! That is actually when the crowd is most hyped (I suggest you watch them perform live in concert). :) But I do get what you mean. As it is the track is not very 'radio-friendly' because of its length and it makes the most sense to cut off that part.
I love you both man, but I love every second of this song. I prefer it this way in my own opinion. Much love.
In a world where songs are getting shorter and shorter we like these long songs🥹
Totally agree. I love Karera but that long bridge keeps me from playing the song more than 2x in one sitting
November Rain by GNR is almost 9 mins and it has a billion views on spotify... length doesn't mean much if it is really good music...
I think ABS really has many good songs in them just hidden waiting to be out because I remember when they still have thier own franchise they have this song writting contest every year that really gave way to new song writters to be seen and discover!
they are so much invested in molding artists
So good music
G22 has two ballads, namely "Babalik" and "Musika".
Musika s just a cover, it's not their song
Yeah! Keep fan fishing.
Ballad? Maybe the “Huwag muna tayong umuwi”. You can check that out… they performed that song in wish bus..that’s the only ballad they have
the "ballad" that they were referring to is Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi which is indeed a power ballad. they're looking for a full toned down power ballad
here with you? 8?
Try to watch acapela and.break dance you love it for sure❤❤❤ bini ❤❤❤
Please react to BINI "HUWAG MUNA TAYONG UMUWI next please 🙏🥺
Global no.1 Billboard Philippines #BINI
Hope you react to their single "Cherry on top " mv
Please make a video why Pantropiko popped off 😊
Cebu is the bedrock of singers.
The members dance crews from this area can fairly sing at a level of kpop talents.
Go there, find young tall slim dancers, they are the best teens to be trained for pop group acts.
That 3 stars and a sun🎉🎉
For ballads, I’d definitely recommend ‘Huwag Muna Tayo Umuwi’ live on Wish bus.
Please watch the Dance Practice of this song too and their Wish Bus Performance! ❤
when is ep3 of finding finix?
I think they put it out every week. Just keep in touch with them.
Still my Number 1 song
A person privy to the financials of abs told me total investment to date for BINI is now at 110 million which is still way below the figures that the KPOP companies pour on a new idol group. that being said I dont think there is any other company (local) that is capable and financially able to invest that amount of money for a PPOP group, even SB19 cannot invest the same amount of money as of the moment. I think that’s where the bottle neck is, money, time, investment and world class team makes for a mainstream (internationally) ready idol group.
Big 4 Kpop companies. Not the small to medium ones.
if abs did got franchise, I think they can invest more than that
Almost every here in the Philippines can sing, just find dancers, they surely can be trained to sing good enough for pop act.
Bini acapella compilation by Dainee
you can check the Wishbus performance of Karera.
FlipMusic writers and engineers are goood
i agree with everything you guys said, i think the reason you guys said that the "bridge" part of the song is boring is bcoz it's actually a "dance break", it means there's no vocals/singing on that part of the song.
It means they don’t understand it 😂 I can't believe they missed that. I thought they were high-caliber producers, yet even regular reactors noticed that the bridge part is a dance break.
Bini remained the same. From Da Coconut Nut up to Cherry On Top.
SB19 is the artist, the members are the idols.
True the each member are idols@@Sofia_Andres
But tbh Kapit Lang is also the Goat lol together with Karera BiNi already proved that the girls can slay any genre.
