I think you the adult PKs should encourage your parent to follow God’s standards, not humans as it os not wrong to have fun in a godly way as one in ministry.
But really, does one need a title or a paycheck, or even a ‘calling’ before they serve or volunteer? I think you must put your time, gifts and resources to serve wherever you are. The rest (titles, ‘callings to ministry’, paid full time etc) are man made traditions and expectations, or what we call ‘culture’, really.
