NS especially BMT is a hell for mental stability, that's probably why the overall mental health for males in sg is significantly lower than females . We've all seen what happened in China's Kunming incident in 2014, as well as in Zhuhai and Wuxi in recent weeks. When powerful grudges/emotions are left unchecked, things may turn unusually vgly in explosive ways. Throughout NS, I've witnessed so many individuals calling each other incredibly terrible names such as Ah-neh, China man, Chee na, Ah-tiong, Ang moh, and so on. That is not how a civilised society should be. Please ensure that there’s absolutely zero racism or corruption in the military, and establish a clear channel for NSmen(including those who've alr ROD ones) and NSFs to report ethnic/cultural discrimination. And those who have been found to have committed such acts (regardless it's past or present) must all be held accountable: they must first openly apologize to their victims face to face, & then compensate at least 80,000 SGD for any mental stress/psychological pains they have caused to their victims and family members.
Thank you for initiating the study! The older generation also faced a lot of these issues but didn't have the awareness or access to mental health support. Hopefully we can change that with our younger generation, so they can learn how to cope despite different troubles, helping them to become better contributors to society, and who can take care of people around them.
So the Question is : Did the PAP and their minimum subsistence level formula support and include an amount sufficient and necessary for families to properly upbring their children enabling them food and clothing, and also have opportunities for education, employment and work-life balance, as well as access to healthcare for proper preparation and behavior into the society? How much importance is it for them and Is it a part of the responsibility of the Govt we want to see? [Reference: ST News - Family of four needs $6,426 a month for basic standard of living in S'pore, says study Published Oct 08, 2021, 10:52 PM] The study was done by National University of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
Will these findings be used by the govt and authorities to categorize or assess our children? For instance, NS occupations, Insurance scoring, Job assessments, etc.
Don't push children for degrees..don't treat them like prince/princess...let them mature to their abilities..play!.not books, books everyday..many Phd's are only Textbook smart..😅😅😅😅😅

Evolution is supposed to make mankind stronger but I guess we are regressing instead of progressing which is sad ❎
