I'm a helicopter pilot and I've had the opportunity to see these guys in the air nearby many a time, however one time stands out from all the others. I was flying in Florida, and I looked over to my right and saw that a bald eagle was flying the same direction as me and at about the same speed as me (I was going pretty slow for a photo shoot). I swear to this day he looked at me, nodded his head slightly, and broke off to the right away from me right as I started to maneuver away from him myself. It remains to be one of the coolest experiences I've ever had as a pilot.

Incredible video! I’ve seen that face up close in person. One summer it was over 110 degrees for several days in Seattle. We were floating on rafts in Lake Washington and saw one of our local eagles stun a seagull who was floating on the lake about 25 yards from us. The eagle flew off, then turned around to come pick up his food which had stopped struggling. He flew straight towards us and we saw that face! Scared the hell out of us! I was a college swimmer and was about to pull my not so great swimmer husband under the water, out of the eagles way. But he was only buzzing us, letting us know that gull was his. ❤😂
