Hi Shellie! I enjoyed seeing how much your cbickens have grown. They're beautiful! I especially like the white with the black, never seen them before. I 💘 Henry! He's a very handsome rooster! I love when he crows! It seems he loves being in your videos and let's everyone know he's there. 💚
Hi Shellie. I enjoyed your video so much. Your hens are beautiful and Henry is a very handsome 🐓 rooster! I would love to have a few chickens, but we aren't set up for them. We used to have a few years ago. I will just have to enjoy the videos of yours! Your daughter does a great job taking videos! So great to see a nice country family! Your videos bring back many happy memories with my grandparents!
What a fun update! I very much enjoy your videos as well as Mike's. You mentioned the warm afternoons. Our temps here in south Texas are staying maybe 88° at night and 110° to 120° each day. Every region has its good, the bad, and the way too hot or cold, I suppose. Peace and blessings to each of you. ♥
Farm Mom - I think you would agree that chickens are like any animal. if you give them great care and take care of them and don't abuse them all breeds can be tame and gentle. Enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
this was a very enjoyable video sheli. i picked out my favorite one, shes a grey with a perched up rump. gosh, they have b become so big. the cat idea was purrrrfect. carmine p.
@@farmmom7140 Mine isn't exactly friendly but he at least respects the space of adults . . .kids however are another matter. Tempted to get a new rooster since ours was accidental. We bought 10 pullets and got two roosters. :P
Thanks for watching. Everyone is growing great and keeping busy with clearing areas of grass and weeds! Soon they'll be eating the leftovers in the garden..... 😀
Nice video. I was wondering how big those chicks were getting 😊 You have a great assortment of different types of hens, so pretty. I enjoy your videos.
Henry is a Salmon Faverolle. They're known to be calm, gentle and docile. He's the best rooster I've seen for being super friendly! Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately no. They only saw each other as I replaced Johnny and put Henry in the coop. Johnny was getting very aggressive and mean with anyone that would step foot by the hen house or yard. He also was pretty mean with the hens. I found Henry from a customer at my work that was re-homing him. The older gentleman had hand raised and held Henry every night. He was just turning 9-10 months old so it was the perfect fit for our hen house! Thanks for watching!
Such cute chickens, of course Henry made my day🤣🤣. Good job! Why do you have to feed them bagged food? Isn't the stuff around the yard and kitchen scraps?🤗🤗💞💞
I feed a grower/layer food for supplementation while they're growing. Just to make sure they're getting the protein and calcium. But yes, they also get left over veggies and fruits!!! Thanks for watching Cami.
Yes, I've come across two small eggs about a week ago. One didn't quite have an egg shell. It was just the membrane sack. (common with the first eggs laid). The other was a perfect little white egg... Thanks for watching and have an awesome day!
Thanks for watching Shamini. In this video there is still 4 older hens. (about 3 1/2 yrs old). Henery is 2 yrs old now. And the rest were hatched in mid April 2020. At the time of the video the younger ones were 4 months and 1 week old. Happy New Year!
Shellie, you said you have some favorites, which ones are they and is Henry one of your favorites? They sure are good-looking chickens! Do you know which ones have started laying eggs? ~Margie
Good morning Margie. After looking and thinking that I had some favorites, I changed my mind. I love them all..... First choice was the all white chickens with a little black around there neck. They also have feathers on there feet. I haven't caught the hen in the act yet laying her egg. Maybe I need to put my camera in there for a day??? But the couple of eggs that I've gotten were definitely smaller than my older hens.
Hi Melissa, no I don't vaccinate my chicks. If I hatch them from my own incubator and they stay on our farm I don't feel the need to vaccinate. I also rotate my chickens in several chicken runs to keep bacteria and diseases away. (Letting areas rest and regrow is important for the overall health of birds and keeping bacteria away). Now if there were varieties I didn't have and had to purchase from a company or store, they'd be vaccinated. Thanks for watching Melissa.
