To anyone having confusion.. the technique is to compare among levels/hierarchy in the tree and not with greater or lower numbers.. i.e imagine if it was alphabets in the tree like a,b,c,d,e instead of numbers

At 4:25, why can't 12 be compared with 8? Isn't it larger than itself as well as 4 and 8 in the subset?

not larger in terms of the relation itself(note that both 12 and 8 are on the same level) not to be confused with 12 being greater than 8 (algebra)
