Similar figures on a 3 week old Q4 45 with a trip from South Somerset to Dumfries & Galloway and back. Total mileage 884 at an average of 3.7m/kWh. Short term memory was around 4.0 when bimbling about in rural Scotland. No roof box, but air-con was on. Only five charging stops - Hilton Park, Tebay, Auchinleck (new), Carlisle & Sandbach. Sandbach to home leg is 188 miles and had 19% left on arrival. So 61% for 188 miles would give a theoretical range of just over 300.
Thanks. We recently did a trip from Bristol to Bishopton (West of Glasgow) and spent a few days in the local area visiting Loch Lomond and the area before returning home via York. Motorway speeds really ate into the consumption of electricity and I think we averaged about 3.3kwh. Once we were back on A and B roads the average went up to 4kwh which goes to show how slower speeds really help economy. One thing I will say is that all the charging points in we used in Scotland worked first time and none were broken and we never had to wait for one to become free. Once we got back to England it was a different story....
3 months and 3300 miles after getting my Q4 45 and I’m averaging 4.6m per kWh since purchase and I’ve so far failed to get less than 350 miles on a charge. Only used public chargers once and even then I was only checking out how it worked. My driving is a mix of every possible road from country lane to motorway.
Last week on full 100%battery, motorway mix with A roads , I managed just over 300 miles , but no A/c on. Mind you, I drive gently and in a decent manner.just drive for 5 mins over 75mph, other than stayed under the limit.
@@edinreviews Based on the consumption on the journey - it gives you an extrapolated total range of 271 miles. 271/3.9 miles per kw gives a battery capacity of 69.5 kw ( 90 % of original) . A bit down from the 77 kw useable capacity audi quote for a new car. Of course this is a very rough way of calculating it.

I’m heading to Manchester next weekend so will have a decent motorway run to test efficiency. Struggled to get 3.0m/kWh with the roof box on 😱
Love the content as a potential new EV and q4 owner
Looking forward to that M way journey.
@@thomasdavidbassett483 heading away tomorrow until Monday so video probably up next Tuesday👍🏻

Hello there 😊
Does your q4 precindition the battery when you use car sat nav and olan in a charge on route ?
@@chrisedwards7411 early ones like mine don’t have battery preconditioning. 45 and 55 models built after Oct 23 have this feature 👍🏻
Does that suggest that you have some battery degredation? Getting 300 miles in my q4 40 at 4.0 miles per kw with 15000 miles on the clock.
@@ivanhoelinewatch9624 not sure, and I’ve no idea how to check😳

We keep saying this but now that I've got a 77 kWh battery too we really need to do a proper comparison bergen the enyaq and the Q4
@@enyaq_gorm yes! I’ll message you 👍🏻
