I am a 64 year old drum teacher who has been collecting music for 50 years. I just discovered the music of Thea Gilmore a couple of months ago. I just finished purchasing her entire catalog. I'm about halfway through listening and I absolutely love her singing and songwriting. I only wish I had heard her years ago. She is already becoming one of my favorite artists.
My baby girl was born and we’d had a really hard time in the lead up to her being born and this song reminds of the relief when I finally got her in to my arms, such a beautiful song. This gets me every time.
Beautiful,soulful,Thea........... love this lady. Also, hats off to her husband, a great musician in his own right who doesn't get enough credit. This version, simply stands alone x
Listen to the album she recorded under the name Afterlight. It's all about her split from Nigel Stonier due to his behaviour over many years. Thea states he wasn't physically violent towards her, it was mental/emotional abuse.
This is epic, mega, iconic and any superlative whether modern or old school. Thea has a voice of pure quality and could make even the most banal song sound memorable. Luckily this metal anthem is a good 'un. And she has plenty of her own songs also to mesmerise, In my opinion she is one of Britains finest singer/songwriters and we should treasure her. I love what you do Thea keep up the good work. ❤🧡💛
last night i've watched "army of the dead" starring (Dave Bautista) and after few minutes it the beginning of the movie, and i've heard like never before calm the beast when i heard "sad moon rising" then i wanted to know put it together in her tone, girl ur everything, you can sing up the dead to live again :) well done ;)
Lyrics for those who don't remember...: She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry Whoa, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by Whoa, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine Whoa, yeah Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa, oh, whoa, oh Sweet love of mine
Once in a while a singers performance catches you and you realize REAL talent and not that Hollywood hogwash they feed you. This singer and Gordon Lightfoot "sundown" are those songs
For some reason I can see another slow motion zombie killing massacre with this in the background...... knives thrown. Brass hitting the ground. Zombies exploding.....

Absolutely!!!! Same thing here. She sounds so good 😊
Ha! Same
Movie was a joke but a joke worth hearing because of Thea. So glad I caught her song before I shut it off.
Holy cow. That's freaking hilarious because I am too...came here after shazaming her "bad moon rising" ballad playing in the movie.
Lol that's how I discovered her. It was indeed the same movie! She's made versions better!!
Hats off to the transcribing that’s song into his own unique way is a masterpiece of guitar work 👌
Couple Thea with world class lyrics and a great arrangement and something amazing ensues - like here.
Magnificent guitar player. Just terrific. Great cover.

Can anybody point me in the direction of the tabs for this version?? Great cover.
This Thea is hooked on THEA
Great cover
The guitarist makes this work.
Love this cover. Guitar tabs please. TIA
Great cover 👍 But the one that really gets to my soul is from the movie Captain Fantastic.
Gorgeous cover. As great a cover as Bonnie Raitt's version of Dimming of the Day in my opinion.
3:18 What is the digital gizmo which is mounted on the guitar's headstock called that queues the chords?
Digital tuna mate
@@brianlord2Sounds fishy.
What is that electronic thing at the end of his guitar's neck?
Tuner, I should think - mine looks similar but I turn it off while I’m playing
