My response to comments below this video: 🙇1) Some viewers are saying “candidate should have answered like this/that… This is very simple question how could he not answer it?” While, it is easy to pass such judgement sitting outside. But when you are sitting in that interview chair, everyone makes mistakes. Because of two reasons A) Mental fatigue after long and add some journey to Delhi, and waiting outside the interview-hall B) ‘mental hangover’ i.e. If candidate made a faux pass @Panelist#1, candidate’s mind gets disturbed, then Panelist#2 may be asking very easy questions yet the candidate is misinterpreting them as tough questions / Because the mind is under ‘hangover’ from the previous panelist so mistakes are made. Nonetheless, Mr Mittal has handled the interview quite well. 😕2) Some viewers are commenting/comparing the panel to MTV/TVF roadies. I resent this comparison. Our panel was neither insensitive nor rude to any candidate. But, we have to stay in a formal, serious character, only then the candidate can get a mock UPSC interview experience. We can’t show too much affection, humor, emotions unlike Indian Idol judges. At the same time, panel has shown its caring attitude for example: A) Even when candidate made mistakes Chairman intervened and helped him towards the right answer. B) After the interview was over, the candidate was called back for feedback (31:00) you can see that the Chairman asked him about his favourite street food during college days just to de-stress him and get him over that ‘mental-hangover ke i gave some wrong answers’, before giving him the feedback. So that the mental hangover is over and candidate can attentively listen to the feedback given and utilise it. C) After his faux pass with Panelist#2 in the Decentralization questions. → Panelist #3 (asked him about his Germany internship) And Panelist#4 (myself- asking him questions from his optional subject political science) … we fielded those relatively easy Qs to bring him back to the comfort & confidence zone from the mental hangover. Because, such is the theme even in real UPSC real interviews - If you me make mistake at some place, it doesn't mean the panel will pounce on you to degrade your performance further. They will give you ample opportunities to show your best, by deliberately fielding some easy questions. 📽 3) Regarding some viewers comments about camera angle. We chose to keep the camera focused on the face, because:
A) After the mock interview is over, candidates are given their video recording, so they can see it and observe their own facial expressions for nervousness, confidence, energy and accordingly they can rectify it in the real interview. Similarly the camera is focused on the face of the panellist when he is asking the question. So afterwards candidate watch video & see whether his answer pleased/displeased the panelist e.g. observe Panelist#2 Dagur sir’s expression at (10:36) when the Candidate said “Referendum”. If we take wide angle shots it is not captured properly and so after the mock interview candidate will not know whether everything went fine or not. After interview is over, due to paucity of time, each and every panelist cannot tell the candidate for each and every answer ke “betaa aapne ye mistakes kri thi.” But looking at the facial expressions of panelist in the video, the candidate himself can later on understand and correct it in a real interview कि मैंने किन किन शब्दों का अनावश्यक रूप से प्रयोग नहीं करना है. (And the viewers can also learn from it and prevent similar mistake in their own future interviews)
One of the best interview panel , Mrunal sir and especially chairman were excellent ,candidates calmness while answering was superb, i felt bit nervous when i assumed my self as interviewee😂😂
I guess camera person is focusing more on capturing the subtle expression of candidate. The fear, the anxiety, the happiness, all blend into one... But Drishti by far has the best camera person and editors
Many videos I have seen before.. but this interview shows the reality of a civil service Interview. The dilemmas given by the panel are excellent.. The new kids who are thinking upsc is easy to crack need to watch this . I am sure.. many will change the mind after seeing this
I guess if someone is reaching up to that position..they certainly have gained knowledge and with knowledge comes the confidence..so no need to afraid if you are working hard.
Extremely difficult interview. He was grilled left, right and center. Facing an interview board (With Murnal Sir) is far difficult than being a keyboard intellectual. So, guys Critical of him; stay calm, he will be in LBSNAA very soon.
Interview panels are putting him more in deep situations or cases. This is the real way of judging our knowledge with real world or professional work as a administrator. I love this interview and Interview panel.
He's giving generalised answers maybe this interview helped him lot to perform much better score in interview, panel is really good asking mostly about polity economy, and public administration.
I think definitely better than drishti because the panel helps you to answer. Supports and even gives you hints. It's good so that the person doesn't lose confidence.
Woww... listing to this interview i feel like i might give better answers but i know just being in that situations sitting there creates additional pressure on mind which he is facing...🙃
More like shubhra ranjan ma'am. Check it out. What you'll find in both the interviews is that all the members are attentively listening to the candidate. But that's not the case in actual UPSC interview and so is in Shubhra Ranjan ma'am one.
Well, this is the best IAS mock interview because this gives the idea to the candidate to deal with the upcoming interview which will be taken by the IAS interview boards members and the best things are that some are itself former IAS so they can ask the question at the real interview level that you can see at the panelist 2.
And it would make you more emotional when you got to knw that he went for the classes just a day after his father is no more with us, that is the type of commited guy he is. I'm really feeling so proud to be his one of the best friend .
When did Chanakya say lion and fox thing.?????????? It was only Machiavelli who said that. This candidate tried to fool the panel, and in turn himself got stuck..!!
International Morality consists of moral principles which are endorsed by a number of nations. The rules of customary International Law reflect International Morality. One of the major sources and sanctions of International Law has been International Morality. The Charter of the United Nations reflects International Morality in many of its provisions, for example, in calling for respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms without discrimination as to race, sex, language or religion. The moral desirability of peace is formally affirmed almost universally, though with provisions and conditions attached. War is now recognized as immoral and even when it has to be resorted to, the nations accept and follow limits on methods of waging it.” Thus there exists an international code of moral values which is popularly called International Morality.
