@@richardcalf8337It is already popular and this isn't the first time I've seen this. Some people have been doing this for 10 years. I've done this myself with my own camera and setting it up is quite easy. What's difficult is the light painting itself. It takes a lot of practice and precision to get it right.
Wow, i just realised this. The only reason he showed up on the photo is because he was getting a shoe shine, and was standing still for a long period of time
Technically the photo was able to catch a second person, the shoe shiner that was shining the photographed gentleman’s shoes, but because the shoe shiner was darting around to the different angles of the gentleman’s shoe, the shoe shiner was more of an amorphous blob.
There is real invisibility cloaks tho! (Yeah that prob was a green screen in the video) They basically bend light AROUND the object(s) behind it making it impossible to see to the human eye, while still allow you to see whats behind. Its a really cheap plasticky material that the military uses.
I used long exposures in the film days, and even with digital to make ghost photos of myself and others. Stand still for half of say, a 30-second exposure at ISO 100, then quickly walk out of the frame. It takes some experimentation with time but it makes for some cool images. I guess you could call it a cousin of light drawing. Cool cat image, btw.
In photography class we did the same thing, except I came up with the idea of adding tissue paper over the flashlights to make them colored. Needless to say everyone loved that idea and we had a great time with our photos. :D
I can't wait to try doing these in a few days, just gotta wait for my 10 stop nd filter to come in. Well and to get used to using long exposures. Long exposures are pretty cool.
I’ve made some spooky “ghost” photos like this for a project back at my local art center when I was a kid with long exposures. It was honestly super fun and I even got the teachers to join me lmao
Right now I’m crying like a baby. This is such a haunting possibility, and this movie does such an excellent job at presenting it in such a real, human light. It’s so terrifying to think that with the press of a button all we know can be stripped away
i learnt photography not too long ago in art and this was exactly what we learnt! we used our phone flashlights to create things like hearts in the background or lighting by shining the phone screen onto the product and not at the camera, however we couldn’t stay in one position for too long, or else we appear in the photo.
I remember doing these in a class in middle school if you want people to actually show up they would have to stay there the entire time and have someone shine a flashlight on them
Hold on. Is that first picture a mostly accurate spinosaurus done with light paint?! That’s so cool! It’s probably the most unique paleoart I’ve ever seen!
If you appear for too long when you do that, you'll be slightly visible like those ghost spotting picture LOL. I got couple photos like that when i try to make light painting for the first time 😂
with this same thing if you stay still for half of the picture you can look like a ghost! this explains a lot of the older ghost photos with extra hands and stuff as those photos took longer to capture, the subjects probably moved their hand adding what appears as an extra hand in photos.
basically the parts of you we'd see the most are the parts that didn't move much, like the shoes. You were crouching for a big part of it so your feet didn't move much which resulted in them appearing more in the final photo
A friend of mine got a stick with a bunch of LEDs on it, controlled by an Arduino, Which basically took a photo, and then "scrolled" through the image, so if you moved it around during a long exposure photo, you could have the image appear in the Photo, Which looked quite cool, and doesn't require as much training and skill as normal lightpainting
It’s the same reason why old photos of city streets never have any people in them, because they are always moving so the old timey camera only picks up on things staying still
If anyone sees this and wants to do it, but has trouble with the line work, have an image in front of you, but behind the camera. Make sure it's flipped backwards to you, so that it will show up the correct way to the camera. Then, just trace it in the air.
you can use a normal phone with manual/pro mode on it. set ISO to lowest value possible and set shutter speed to 30s or any time you want. I prefer doing this in the dark
It's just the exposure setting on your camera and the film that you use. Work in a dark environment, set a long exposure, and use the correct film and it's pretty easy. You can probably even use a program on a digital camera to mimc how a real camera does it.
Imagine that cat photo being the only picture that survives millions of years from now and some historian of a descendant from the human race. Looking at that and wondering what we look like
Why isn't this guy famous rn!?
He will be
A more popular streamer has to react to this and he will boom in popularity maybe Mr beast collaboration
Damn I've never seen someone with basically the same pfp as me 🐈🍞
Coincidence
This isn't new, it's always fascinating to see people discovering things on RUclips for the first time
damn that's actually such a bright idea. no really this is great!

@@NicolasGrant But I really like it, can't wait to see more. It's a new frontier in the arts and soon people will see the light.

Fun Fact: This is the reason why the "Boulevard du Temple" photo (first photo of a human ever) only capture one person despite the street being busy

My dad used a long exposure in Venice once and got what looked like a ghost gondola
Yeah, I did it with a few friends one night, with some flashlight it was super cool

I saw this happen when I tried to take a photo from the sky with low exposure... I realized i was invisible while the sky was really beautiful lol
That is still suprisingly little appearance for a long exposure photo, props to you!
I feel like you would be great at the Disney adult logo drawing xd
I hope you be famous soon

You should do a light painting where someone stands next to it the entire time with a lamp shone on them.

If you want to appear in a light painting, you need a flash to illuminate the scene. Then you can paint over that with a light

Damn people really don't know how long Exposure works...
welcome to the disney channel
That one TF2 reference
With the long exposure photoes do you set the iso low so it turnes out normally
Early cameras had to have lights exposed to it for up to hours. Never knew those type of cameras still existed lol.
