Lived in Canada for many years before moving to US in 2007. The Pakistani restaurant scene seems to have had explosive growth since I left. I need to go back again as the desi food in US is not up to par
Mainly has to do with the influx of educated, skilled immigrants in Canada and their concentration in Greater Toronto Area.
You are right. Last few years Pakistanis have finally decided to operate their own businesses. Pakistani, Afghan and middle eastern restaurants have seen exponential growth. You are going to find a shawarma joint pretty much everywhere. It was not the case 15 years ago.
Move to Houston
It's the same and prices are tripple. Each dish cost is now 15-20 bucks for small portions, not worth it

Same here. I moved from US to Canada in 2015 and ever since there is an explosion of desi restaurants all over GTA.

Kadhai Boys n Chick Fiesta Kahbhi India aya to mai bhi yahan zaroor try karunga Pakistani Kadhai for sure. Desert Lounge run by our Afghan brother n sister was amazing. Iam from Kanpur my sister in Canada from Lucknow city India capital of UP next door neighbour not Karachi Zia Bhai 😂. LOL guy from Peshawar taught guy from our Ludhiana Peshawri Kadhai 😜 thats fun. Happy new year! Great vlog Zia Bhai!! Please visit Lahore Tikka House- famous/oldest Pakistani restaurant and Moti Mahal (Indian) located at Gerrard India Bazaar in Toronto. This bazaar is home to other desi clothing and jewelry stores. Typically busy on Saturdays.
Also visit Premium Sweets for authentic Bangladeshi food- either in Mississauga location (Tomken Rd) or Scarborough location (Lebovic Avenue). Try their famous Dhaka style beef tehari ( beef biriyani) Ilish pulao ( Bengali hilsa fish) and Aadi Chicken ( korma chicken biriyani). Try their awesome Bengali sweets too.
You can also visit Brar's grand buffet (Indian food) in Brampton and The Maharaja (Indian food) in Mississauga.
