March 16th, 2024 for me. I think about this duet too often
Chinese ballads are really the best. Chinese people really understand melancholy, drama and subtlety. I wish NCT China line (WayV + RenLe) do a whole album that doesn't sound Kpop. Something with Chinese sound aesthetics with a couple of ballads. And I hope they make sure to use Hendery's lovely baritone voice well cuz his low voice (as well as Xiaojun's and Ten's low register) is just beautiful. I know Kpop is more popular but they no longer cater much to people who appreciate softer, gentler and subtler types of songs. Idols barely release ballads that have strong and memorable melodies these days. They rely too much on visuals and dance. Those are good too but there's also something about songs that grips your heart and take you to other places when you listen to them with eyes closed..

I'm a Taiwanese girl, who grew up listening to this song. It's my mom's favorite. I remember whenever I opened the car door when my mom picked me up from school, she would be playing this song. I still open the door to her listening to this song, 6 years later. My mom was also in a small band when she was younger, and sometimes she sits at her piano and sings this song. The way they sing it brings back so many emotions and memories for me. I'm so happy they sang such a meaningful song in my life, and created another memory with this song.

Yes, Chinese songwriters understand bittersweet taste of love and the deep longing for a loved one that goes beyond sexual desires. I've always been a huge fan of Chinese movies and music. Even Chinese instruments like the guzheng and erhu are too melancholic.
Renjun and Xiaojun are great examples of how Chinese/international artists can be main vocalists in kpop groups (most of the time this position is held by Korean artists from what I’ve seen so far), their singing skills, talents and emotions transcend any language barrier

I think through the years SM finally see their potential. The company kind of treat them better this few years. Winwin got more lines, Renjun get to sing a few of NCT songs in chinese. Not to say a few WayV members get a chance to write their own lyrics.
Did you listen to NCT 'From Home'? All members sing in their native/mother language. Also.... Wavy exists? And the members do a lot of their social media and promotional activities in their native language, for example Vlives or Huya. They have huge fandoms in their home countries, for example Yuta has the most Instagram followers among Japanese male celebrities?

I'm so impressed with XiaoJun's breathing. At 3:05 he was hitting the higher note and then proceed with singing his line right after IN A FREAKING ONE BREATHE!!!
Aside from his breathing technique, Xiaojun's vibrato, and riff are so neat, like always. For me he has the best vocal color among NCT vocalist cause the moment he open his mouth you can already feel the emotion he wants to deliver even without understanding the lyrics.

The original one is already addictive and the day I heard it for first till now,not got over it. Now two of the sweetest and smoothest sounding artists covering it! Renjun and Xiaojun are already darlings and now want their own sub(sub) unit! And if they can add Kun and Chenle,that quadro will be awesome!
