Way over my head and does not seem a fit for small channels or for my use Seems like better suited for huge corporations that have time and money which I have neither at the moment. Okay to hear thoughts however hard to see how this can help me aside from look at others to try to learn from them? Kind of against what you teach us through think
@@IcelandAdventures That was my initial impression but there are lessons to be learned here about creating significant growth even for "niche" channels. That term itself can be self limiting because we justify our current progress by comparing it to corporate or hugely popular channels thinking that the main difference is access to resources. Everyone will have their own measure of satisfaction with where they are, but with ~2 billion monthly active users on RUclips we are selling ourselves short in believing that several hundred or even several thousand subscribers are enough for us. We should want to tell our stories and share our knowledge and experiences with every possible person who would be open to it.
He said near the end of the podcast that it takes patience, time. It can take a very long time, but ultimately you’ll get it (go viral). No one’s clock of success is the same. Where it may have taken 1 person months, and others 10 years. I’m glad that I’m officially semi-retired, because I don’t have any pressures on me. I can do 10 years, but I like everyone else hope not. 😊

I read hook point last year- I made a product based off the teachings in the book- fast forward to today- I finally get to work with Brendon Kane’s team.
26:50 is the key line to Quantity vs Quality. I’ve put out 400 videos between shorts and long form over the last year… and while I’m not at 10k, 100k, etc yet… I did LEARN so much about what the data from my videos and others has shown me about my audience, about my content, etc. I need to go back and fix my old king form thumbnails… AND I’m starting a new channel to get specific in my educational content learning from my 400 steps forward. If I had not taken those steps, I would not be as confident about if this is the right move. I’d still be studying. Sometimes “you just gotta press record” and get into motion. Great episode
Ooof great reminder. I have a problem with continually learning but at some point I just need to stop consuming and click the freaking record button much more often 😅😅
@@NurseAyan don't we all?! For sure. I really dislike and overanalyze things I put out there because I want to give my best face. I thought my early content was really good, and I go back and watch and cringe. And I realized that without moving forward, I never would have given myself the practice I needed to get better. Go get it!
Ive followed Sean and Think Media for a couple of years now. I love the volley between two very successful creators. One follows a very scientific method and the other a trial by fire. The common denominator- a system. What I love is that all of this keeps evolving and you must continue to always be a student. These guys keep it real and don't waste your time.
Studying the patterns of viral content in a variety of niches is highly essential for growth. Studying user behaviors within the content tells you a lot. Using google trends to confirm interest on topics is a great way to see how popular your topic is.
618 subscribers, I feel so close yet so far away from 1,000. Definitely notice a much steadier increase in subscribers than the first couple hundred. Thanks Think Media for many tips I have implemented.
If Kane were a university professor, I think he would be the one everyone fears, the most demanding, a bit like Santa Claus from Futurama... But the one everyone remembers as the professor who took them one step further and taught them how to get the best of themselves.
I am learning that research is a major, something I must learn to do instead of rushing. Thats my biggest take away here is to research... Thanks for sharing!
I love what he said about "earning the right to sell". Many people come out the gates with the offer but earning that right definitely feels like a value exchange, the way it should be. Wow, learning that Mr. Beast studied virality in the early days is really cool. I know where my next audible credit is going. Thanks for having him on!
I mean it Sounds great but his information is flawed. Only thing I agree with is the fact that you shouldn’t be doing batched Contant Cuz it dilutes the creative juices and people can tell. Example- I don’t think what he’s talking about applies to every person and every Content creator or every niche because if that’s the case then everyone will be able to go viral. I do reels on Instagram every single week several times a week the same type of video and when I first started doing the reels I was getting 20,000 views 18,000 views Per video which is high for me and then Instagram started offering me too pay for advertising on said reels I didn’t take the bait and now I get four views 100 views on the same type of videos that I’ve been doing the whole time so make that makes sense. so what he is saying is not true! As a matter of fact I don’t know of any artist they get 10 million 30 million views every time they upload a video on Instagram.😒 I think he’s coming from a privilege place where he has production and people and all these people to do research and do everything for him he can’t really talk from a place of I am doing all the things myself and this is how I went viral.
This podcast is like a dart in a bullseye, by both Brendan and Sean. My brain hears bells... But I still don't know where they come from. Thanks, very helpful!
Good job doing the interview Sean. I listened very closely, but what if there is nobody close to your niche that has the lofty subscriber numbers that Brendan talks about?
What I have heard Sean say, is that if there isn't anyone in your niche that has a lot of subscribers, then there is one of two things: 1) There's not a big enough market to grow to a large RUclips channel. 2) There might actually be a market for your niche, but essentially you would be pioneering that market. I hope this helps.
@@GetUnlabeled the logical thing is to just study channels that have success. But I am pretty clear that is not what Kane is suggesting, thus the question.
@@zachcarson4 If I go by the research... i.e. what the demand is... there are only a handful of videos... the majority of those average at least 300k. The target is filmmakers... there are a ton of those. The subject is movie trailers... every filmmaker who finishes a film needs a trailer. So it could be wide open... or it could be that people think they know how to do something... which, based on Indie film trailers... is a very bad assumption, and therefore, people aren't asking the question... I don't know.
@@andycification So if the average is 300k views per video, that is pretty high meaning that there is a market for it, but no one is diving deep into that topic. I would try it out and see 👍🏻
Play to your core brand, deliver to the masses.... Surprise seems to be a key element to virality which is able to produce an emotional response-I'm sure the feel good chemical dopamine has something to do with it too

My biggest takeaway..... I stopped watching. I think he deals with huge channels so much, he's lost touch of what's realistic for small channels in huge niches. Once a channel gets a certain size, they literally can put some random picture on the TN, and they'll still get multiple 1000s of views in minutes or hours, and the content is not that much different than 100s of smaller channels in that niche-- at least that's what I see in my niche. He didn't seem to agree with the VFM theory, and that's just unrealistic.
