Forest fan here. Not here to gloat but I'm old school and know Everton as a big club remembering the likes of Bob Latchford, Trevor Steven, Kevin Sheedy etc and it's sad to see your current plight. Forest and Everton similar levels in 70's - 80's (think you could even have joined us with a European Cup or two if you were given the chance in the mid-80's) and similar downfalls since; albeit Forest plummeting far more than Everton. But here we are, Everton same old, same old for decades now and Forest suddenly (over night really) trying to get back to where we feel we belong. But how? Money? Well not really. The answer has been phenomenal recruitment. Current squad Sels £7m, Aina FREE, Hudson-Odoi £3m, Murillo £11m, Milenkovich £12m, Elanga £15m. Etc, etc. These are not prices Everton can't afford. I hear all the moaning about Dyche, same at Man Utd and Spurs. Haven't you learnt yet? Change managers all you like, but until you get quality players, nothings changing. Klopp (sorry) or Guardiola wouldn't improve Everton's position much with your current squad. Dyche is utilising the tools at his disposal and a lesser manager would get you relegated. Forest have restructured the club behind the scenes in the last couple (literally) of years, and were now suddenly seeing the benefits with a bright future - this is no flash in the pan i assure you. I predict Forest are gonna be in and around the top 8 for a few years now and Everton could easily join us by sorting yourselves out. Planning and restructuring required, not sacking endless managers. And I hope you do as i want all traditional big clubs to be fighting it out, not some elite two or three every year. I remember when Harrison initially joined on loan, Leeds were happy to let him go and the fans were happy to see him go. We don’t score goals as we don’t put teams under any real pressure. Patterson should be starting for me. Doucoure shouldn’t be playing or Harrison. They are both subs and squad players for me. At half time I would have brought on Calvert lewin, Beto, Chermiti and Lindstrom. I do think he needs to mix up what we do with players. Regardless of what we purchase in Jan - we really need to cut the head off the snake and sack Dyche in order to effect real change. There are plenty of managers/coaching teams out there that can get the best out of N'Diaye / Lindstrom / Broja / DCL etc... heck even playing Harrison on LW, will probably see far more effective returns from him. Change of culture and style of play; mentality - all stems from getting rid of Dyche (and Stoney and Woaney). If this does not happen, then be prepared to see the same starting 11 and 'tactics' week-in; week-out. In two years of Dyche - NOTHING has changed, even though our squad has. That really says it all. The truth is evertons greatest assest was its home support. Dyches approache and insistence on picking the same players regardless of how badly they perfom has sucked the life out of goodison. I felt this was the when we let dermai gery go with out playing and now we are constantly trying to buy wide players
The difference is recruitment. Sign players who believe that they are going to be the best in their positions for starters. The mentality needs to change asap. We should have signed Morgan Gibbs White when we had the chance. We also could have signed Elanga.
Team needs a complete overhaul. When you consider the number of players who's contract or loan deal will expire in June it's going to be expensive. Not sure how we will do that within PSR limitations. Branthwaite will probably go. Got to fund 6-7 new players somehow. Possibly some Roma cast-offs on loan?
Dyche can blame the players but at the beginning of this season I thought our squad was better than last season. Dyche is so conservative ,he doesn't trust the youngsters. Doucoure is such a poor technician and yet keeps Armstrong out of the side. There is no right winger and no number ten. Mc Neil has skill but is slow, DCL is athletic but not clinical. Both centre halves are making regular mistakes and Pickford is saving our bacon. We can't keep ossession, we can't play through the lines and we lack pace everywhere. Only absolute shite elsewhere is keeping us out of the bottom three. But Leicester and Wolves are better on the ball. Draws will not save us.

Patterson is OK going forward, but people seem to forget how often he got caught out defensively years ago when he was a starter. Maybe he's improved that side of his game since. I don't think much of Mykolenko's game is good enough for the PL(or maybe even the Championship). Myko is only OK when he can sit back and do nothing but defend.

You keep saying these players shouldnt be struggling. In general i agree but who would you play in the fb positions that can play modern football effectively?
I think your man that you have on regularly( the lad who talks about foodbanks etc) is correct. Our fbs dont get forward because they cant get back and we get ripped apart on the counter.
We know the attributes that we would like to see in players in certain positions. When the time comes, i hope TFG will have a clear idea of the attributes required of our next manager.

Am i the only who thinks that tarkowski is so overrated and switches off most games especially against faster quicker players ...add to the constant blaming of other players around him when it's his mistakes ...
Even now the players the club are linked with are thirty ISH slow players we need youth and pace we've needed it for the last five years

Let's not forget that Dyche refused to play our quickest forward at the time (Demarai Gray)... We could get the quickest, most skillful right fwd on the market in Jan... with this manager however - there is no guarantee that he will be playing (let alone starting). Regardless of what we purchase in Jan - we really need to cut the head off the snake and sack Dyche in order to effect real change. There are plenty of managers/coaching teams out there that can get the best out of N'Diaye / Lindstrom / Broja / DCL etc... heck even playing Harrison on LW, will probably see far more effective returns from him. Change of culture and style of play; mentality - all stems from getting rid of Dyche (and Stoney and Woaney). If this does not happen, then be prepared to see the same starting 11 and 'tactics' week-in; week-out. In two years of Dyche - NOTHING has changed, even though our squad has. That really says it all. Dyche out!!!

The truth is evertons greatest assest was its home support. Dyches approache and insistence on picking the same players regardless of how badly they perfom has sucked the life out of goodison. I felt this was the when we let dermai gery go with out

The difference is recruitment. Sign players who believe that they are going to be the best in their positions for starters. The mentality needs to change asap. We should have signed Morgan Gibbs White when we had the chance. We also could have signed Elanga.
Team needs a complete overhaul. When you consider the number of players who's contract or loan deal will expire in June it's going to be expensive. Not sure how we will do that within PSR limitations. Branthwaite will probably go. Got to fund 6-7 new players somehow. Possibly some Roma cast-offs on loan?
Dyche can blame the players but at the beginning of this season I thought our squad was better than last season. Dyche is so conservative ,he doesn't trust the youngsters. Doucoure is such a poor technician and yet keeps Armstrong out of the side. There is no right winger and no number ten. Mc Neil has skill but is slow, DCL is athletic but not clinical. Both centre halves are making regular mistakes and Pickford is saving our bacon.
We can't keep ossession, we can't play through the lines and we lack pace everywhere.
Only absolute shite elsewhere is keeping us out of the bottom three. But Leicester and Wolves are better on the ball. Draws will not save us.
Baz why is it there seems to be this strange thing within our fanbase that Patterson isn’t good enough but mykolenko is?? Just because he’s the only left back we’ve got? when anyone with eyes can see Pattersons clearly a better footballer than him? Mykolenko makes kicking a ball look difficult, his technical ability for a professional is shocking
Patterson is OK going forward, but people seem to forget how often he got caught out defensively years ago when he was a starter. Maybe he's improved that side of his game since. I don't think much of Mykolenko's game is good enough for the PL(or maybe even the Championship). Myko is only OK when he can sit back and do nothing but defend.

The same with Dixon .our fastest player at the club played well against spurs never to be seen again but yet we've got over 35 year olds with zero pace playing full backs...no other club in the league is doing this
Mykolenko been piss poor all season, so why does he play every game!!! There has to be competition, if you don't play well you are dropped, simple

We have a squad of players with no real attacking instincts, no wonder we can't score. Check the records players average 2 or 3 goals a season. It is a long time that anyone scored 10 in a season. Clear the entire management out! bring in someone who wants to win by attacking.
