I once went to the beach on the border between Washington State and British Columbia and there were two bald eagles on the Canadian side and two Canada geese on the American side. A beautiful display of brotherhood from the ornithological symbols of our great nations.

I helped a couple of Canada gosling over a curb once. Mom and dad goose came at me,tongues out and wings spread , ready to take my head off ! Because a stranger was near their kids, and they weren't having it ! Fearless!!!
A mother goose defending her hatchlings will raise the hair on the back of your neck. Quite a sight indeed! Ganders come and go, but a hatchling is the one thing in the world she will gladly sacrifice her life for without a second thought. It's enough to bring a tear to the eye because I think we humans really aren't so different.

I was sitting up by the pond on the edge of the field with the 25-06 hoping I’d see him again. I was looking around the field and saw 4 or 5 Canada gooses and then I understood why he left and didn’t come back
