Entomology student here! I specialized in bees but our classes do cover arachnids and nematodes as well.
    - Spiders don't all have 8 eyes, it's moreso the 8 legs that was important
    - Many insects have 5 eyes total (2 compound eyes and three ocelli or "simple" eyes that detect light). Actual eye amount among insects varies but most have both ocelli (like the three dots you see on a wasp's head) and compound eyes (like the ones you see on flies)
    - Not telling you to spend even more dna, but you also could have added 2 tiny arm on the face to simulate pedipalps, which they use to feel, taste, smell, and communication. If you see a spider with two boxing glove-like structures in front, sort of like an extra tiny set of legs, those are a male's pedipalps. They also use it to, uh, suck up their sperm so they can "inject" it into the female. Using a special little sperm case (spermatozoa). Females have pedipalps too, the "bulb" is just much smaller. I just think that would have been a funny addition.
    - Could have been cool to see the femur friday legs, just to be a little more accurate on the amount of joints on spider legs. But, expensive
Next time you see a spider I'd like to suggest taking a moment to look at it up close, maybe with a magnifying glass! If it's just on its web minding its own business, it is NOT going to jump up and attack you or anything fear may tell you. Same thing with the GRAND majority of insects. You really get an appreciation for the fellas by taking a closer look

Bagheera kiplingi is a jumping spider whose diet consists primarily of nutritious plant buds called Beltian Bodies! The trees they inhabit actually produce these buds as part of a symbiotic relationship with native ants, but the jumping spider's swiftness allows it to sneak in and get out fast after gorging itself on the buds and things like nectar (and sometimes members of it's own species... how very spider of them!).
    B. kiplingi is notable for consuming 90-95% plant-based food, but there are other omnivorous spiders!

Oh gosh it's been ages since I've seen gampeplay of Spore, it's so nostalgic. It's fun seeing you try to be as spidery as possible from the get-go rather than take the easy route and ease into spideryness on the way for the sake of ease of gameplay! Little funfact that might not help in the beginning but could help for the ending of this little guy's build (given you haven't already recorded that of course), the animation of multiple legs depends on how many parts you have on the body. If you test your monster's walk, then place a new piece on or take a piece off, then walk again it will be different! There's a pretty spidery walk in there I think.

More on the subject of spiders, a notable portion of them are eusocial - i.e. live in colonies as opposed to solitary or young-rearing only. So social communication is doable for spiders just fine.
I'd say the Spore spider could use an even thinner chest and waist and bigger abdomen, though. And when the time comes for tribal stage, could give some of those legs hands! For extra nightmare fuel and grasping ability both.
