It is an extra step but only takes a minute or 2 more, you don't have to do it but I works better for me with the Bluesky Blossom Gel. I explained it more in a previous comment on this video xxx

ok so at 0:50 sounds like she did indeed say each one has 2 coats of the base colour, a cured coat of blossom gel, a clear base gel and then finally a layer of wet blossom gel to work on. That is the order she said it in but that surely cannot be the order she applied them in because that makes no sense. The normal thing would be the base gel, two coats of the colour all cured individually and then an uncured layer of blossom gel to work with, cure, and then a top coat. Idk why she had a cured layer of blossom gel either idk what the point would be unless she wanted a thicker nail with lots of layers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So sorry I missed your comment! I did 2 coats of colour and then a coat of the clear Blossom Base, all cured. Then I applied a wet layer of Blossom Clear Base and that's what I did the designs onto. The reason for this is because (not sure if it's the same with all brands of Blossom Gels or just Bluesky) Blueskys blossom base leaves a very slippy surface after curing but their colours don't cure very tacky. So using a thin coat of blossom cured underneath the wet layer helps the blossom colours spread out better. Using the Blossom Base thicker also helps but you then run the risk of the gel not curing fully when you've added the colours too. It's not a step that must be done but it works best for me and if applied thinly it doesn't have much of an effect on the overall thickness of the nails because it means you won't have to use the colours as thick. Hope that makes sense x
Hiya, yes I can't think why not. Gel paints are easier to work with when doing art because they're thicker so you have more control over them but you can do designs with gel polish definitely x
