    Bro..That was really good and helpful..Thank u...one thing is that in case of finding out the relation of E & C , when u found out the relation and determined the value of C from the equation,the equation might be as,C=E/2(1+poisson's ratio)...where it was written as ,C=E(1+poisson's ratio)/2

    a. three times its shear modulus
    b. four times its shear modulus
    c. equal to its shear modulus

      It is due to the addition of both linear strain and compressive strain. strain due to tensile stress will be τ/E an strain due to compressive stress will be μτ/E.

    Anyone can help me with this answer urgently.
    Q:- Experiments were conducted in a tension testing machine to evaluate the materials properties of two metallic rods both having a diameter of 10 mm. First one having modulus of rigidity equal to 380 ton/cm.sqr when subjected to a tensile axial force of 4.90 kn , the change in its diameter was observed to be 0.0002 cm. The value of the bulk modulus of the second rod is the same as the first one but modulus of elasticity is 20% more. Based on the material properties calculate and compare the values of different moduli as well as the poisons ratio.

      yes it governs the bending of member means material having high poisson like Rubber bend eaily while cork having least poissons it will not bend easily hope you got ans!!!
