Dear Naveed! I wrote a City Diary on Golra Railway Station in The News in 1990s, much before a museum was added to it. I saw miniature working models of railway engines and bogies inside a display room brought from Walton Training School, Lahore, incidentally Walton colony my birthplace also. A train on disp[lay here has narrow gauge (2.5 feet wide) track, engine and bogies also which was operational from Mari Indus to Bannu from British Raj to Bhutto Shaheed era and was discontinued during dictator Zia ul Haq regime. A narrow track also operated from Kohat to Tall and another from Peshawar to Landi Kotal. Ab na woh batein rahin, na fasanay rahay. In addition to five Banyan and one Peeple (Ficus religiosia), there are so many other original pieces are kept in Golra Museum brought from railway stations, bogies and station master rooms used when it was NWR, PWR and then PR. I also saw goats and kukrhis roaming around during the long periods in between train timings on the two planforms here. This junction has a line going from here to Jund, Kohat , Iskanderabad, Kundian, and Multan. Very nostalgic place whenever I visited, for me at least. As Masud Rana in a song crooned: "Thakdi ni gadiye, tun annaiyen te jaaniyen; Kiyan noon wichhorh di ayn, te kiyan noon milani ayn." ---Rasheed Khalid
