A Camera Floating Among The Crowd. Walking Around Ipanema This local market is located around the sides of the Praca Nossa Senhora da Paz just outside the entrance to the Nossa Senhora da Paz metro station in Ipanema.
The market only operates on a Friday morning and whilst it is relatively small there are a good number of stalls selling some beautifully fresh fruit, most of which we hadn't seen before, vegetables, eggs, mushrooms, fish, and meat. There were a good number of locals buying produce and we could see why.

The farmers' market features a wide variety of foods in a central location. It is close to the cruise port so it is an easy walk to enjoy this market. This market is on Fridays and locals loves it. This one has great variety and good quality. One would think, given the location, it is more expensive, but actually I found this not to be the case. also if you go towards the end there are great deals to be had.

Tienen una gran variedad. En los hoteles con desayuno continental, en el centro de la habitación, colocan unas mesas ataviadas muy bonitas, con bandejas con toda clase de frutas, éso en el centro, luego hay de TODO, café del mejor, té de muy buena calidad, leche, mermeladas, tostadas, quesos, tortas dulces y saladas, fiambres, jugos de frutas, de todo.
Nos levantábamos temprano para disfrutar ésa instancia, tranquilos.
Aunque ésa sala nunca se llenaba de gente. Muy espaciosa .
Parecido en variedad de frutas y verduras es Colombia ( también, muy amables).

@@WannaWalk Primero el calor, amo el sol, el calor sofocante lo amo, sus playas con esa arena blanca y aguas turquesas, aca tenemos agua frias y arena sucia, la gente alegre, lugares paradisiacos, la comida no puedo hablar porque me hacia de comer mi comida, si puedo decir que las cosas dulces como las facturas y esas cosas no nos igualan jajaj lo nuestro son delicias...me gusto el acaí y haber conocido a 4 amigos alla cariocas...

Is it safe enough during the day and early evenings in common areas of Rio? Would like to travel there. While in Paris, I kept my wallet in front pocket. Greetings from Denver USA where its frosty cold.
Hey Robert from Denver: Imho, in common areas and during the evening it’s safe but be sure to keep low profile and common sense. There is a lot of info on tripadvisor about this. You will love Rio! 😉
I live in Niterói, neighboring city, and work in Rio. I've been robbed on a bus in São Gonçalo, a neighboring city of Niterói, but never in Rio. Avoid places with little movement and poorer places. It's not prejudice against these people, it's prudence. Although we know that 98% of the people who live in these places are honest and hardworking, there are bandits(robbers, drug traffickers) who live in these areas.
When you come to Rio, enjoy and meet Niterói. Put in "google street view" places like Camboinhas, Itacoatiara, Itaipu, Piratininga. They are neighborhoods of the so-called "Região Oceânica de Niterói" or "Oceanic Region of Niterói", where I live. You will like it a lot. Niterói is a very undervalued city.
In this area is ok (south zone, the touristic area).
You just have to take care. I don't like using my phone at the streets, generally I enter a shop to make a call or something like this when I have to spend some minutes using the phone (not something quick)
You won't be necessarily robbed if you use at the street, especially in these areas of the city,but... I avoid doing this.
I just use at the street to change the music I'm listening to or when it's something quick and I'm being really aware of what's happening around me xD
Also don't put your phone on your pocket. This, even in Europe, isn't recommended. Sometimes I actually do this, but I also put a coat/jacket/anything around my waist to hide it.
And prefer walking in groups, especially at night. Of course we, that live in here, don't always do this, but we know the city and we are used to it. It's different.

O Rio é legal de andar, é uma cidade muito intensa, com arquitetura portuguesa, cada esquina aguarda uma surpresa. Todo sobrado, uma loja, coisas surpreendentes. Quer algo diferente, dá uma andada pelo Shopping Downtown, na Barra da Tijuca. Um Shopping, até com colégio, faculdade, no plano, como se fosse um bairro particular. Muito interessante, um espaço agradabilíssimo. Dá pra andar, curtir musica, lanchonetes, restaurantes, consultório médico e dental. Tem tudo lá, muito seguro.
Que recomendação de playboy ele se sentiria melhor no Valqueire e em Marechal Hermes zona oeste do Rio

We do not have winter, so when the temperature get a bit lower people use cold clothes, it is always hot in here

Olha que cidade bonita,enquanto onde eu moro é um lugar depressivo em meio as montanhas de Minas Gerais,é dificil,parabens pelo canal.

Essa feira é na sexta.

A feira, da sexta-feira , na Praça N.Sra. Paz, deixa um cheio HORROROSO, depois que termina, apesar de "limparem". Só quem mora é que sabe.
Moro em Ipanema há 37 anos e a cada dia está mais abandonada. Ruas com o calçamento cheio de buracos (tem sempre alguém se machucando, principalmente os idosos), muiiito sujas, cheias de mendigos, dia e noite, assaltos a qualquer hora, cachorros aos montes (tem mais cachorros do que gente) e as ruas , principalmente as internas cheiram ( e no calor é pior) a cocô e xixi de cachorro.
IPANEMA já foi um excelente bairro
Liga nao, morar perto de feira e mercado central em NY , Paris, bs Aires, amsterdam , Londres etc...tambem fede muito, o mesmo digo para bairros nobres de grandes cidades , cheira a mijo e tem buracos nas calçadas! Ipanema, copa e Lebron estao otimos!!!
Sim to morando em Amsterdam e aqui fede muito em algumas partes também. E eu acho que só não da pra sentir fedor no resto da cidade, pq o cheiro da maconha alivia um pouco kkkkkk. Acredito que em Ipanema ocorra o mesmo..
Ah, e andar naqueles VLTs de Amsterdam a noite? Nem pensar, é cheio de assaltos.
Tenho uma amiga local daqui, Holandesa, que foi pra França e contou que la é bizarro, a cidade fede muito, e você vê grupos de ratos enormes correndo pela cidade e destruindo lixeiras, etc.
E pelo que eu saiba, NY também fede muito, com ratos atacando pessoas nos metrôs e tudo. Faz parte cara, qualquer cidade grande do mundo vai ter esses problemas.
Meu caro, venha morar em Niterói. Dá uma olhada no google street view, Camboinhas, Itacoatiara, Itaipu, Piratininga...Não vai querer mais voltar a Ipanema. Moro num condomínio fechado de casas(não sei até quando, infelizmente) mas é uma maravilha.
