They've not done any local marketing for the event after the initial launch at Suncorp with Toni Storm and Paul Wight. I think I saw a newspaper interview with Buddy Matthews a couple of months ago, but that's about it. I'm fine with the main card being two hours, looking forward to all the matches announced so far. I just want at least a "Zero Hour" or maybe taping some ROH.
Thank the Wrestling gods that someone is reading what I'm typing! Punk v Cody (M.E. Night 2!), Rollins v Reigns, Cena v Jacob Fatu could be a banger, Uso v Gunther (M.E. Night 1), Charlotte v Tiffy, Rhea v Sky
Not sure what the confusion is. Can't remember the source, but i feel like the non-ppv status has been ingrained in my memory for about a month. The ticket holders may have a legit beef, but as far as tv, it seems like we're still getting a big show, without paying extra for ppv.
When they kept on about Grand Slam being shown after basketball, I did do a search on Triller first, wondering why a PPV was dependant on the NBA. Crazy they're travelling so far for what is just an episode of Collision!
I wouldn't mind a Bianca/Jade/Naomi triple threat. Jade could say Naomi attacked her, Naomi says she didn't, Bianca is torn on who to believe, and in the process both Jade and Naomi lose trust in her, setting up the triple threat.
on the bliss comeback, i really dont want her to be part of the Wyatt 6 at first like, keep them separate doing their own things.. but, i do want there to be a very slow burn storyline of her going out on her own, but the 6 are always in the shadows, watching, looking out for her, like guardian angels (or demons) like they keep their distance but Uncle Howdy tells her all she needs to do is say the word and theyll be by her side

Again for the PEOPLE GOING, I can see why you are pissed, and the video should have SAID that. For every TV viewer MOST of is knew this was going to be a FREE event.
It's TAPED. Australia's time and date differential with the USA puts it WAY ahead. You know how London is five hours ahead of Eastern USA time? Brisbane is TWENTY-ONE HOURS AHEAD. The only way to run it live in Brisbane at the Saturday 8:00PM Eastern USA timeslot would be the start it at SUNDAY 11:00AM BRISBANE TIME. By having it Saturday night in Brisbane, it gets recorded at 5pm Friday Eastern time.

I assumed it was going to be an event similar to WWE’s Beast in the East than a ppv. But I can’t blame anyone for feeling cheated buying tickets assuming it’s a ppv. The company has been getting closer to having monthly ppvs. Also flying 17 hours to a new country and planning an event in a massive stadium(originally) screams ppv more than episode of Collision.
Because they booked a FIFTY THOUSAND capacity stadium genius and charged PPV prices for tickets. There is ZERO chance they did that for a glorified B-show.
I've heard that ticket prices for any kind of show/concert/ect are always crazy high in Australia, owing to some weird law or rule how the ticket sales are divided and some pretty outrageous hidden fees and taxes. (Even more so than here in the US and that's really saying something, because the tickets sales companies are some of the most blatant and openly rip-offs ever. It's basically a monoply and do basically whatever they want without any kind of outside regulation.) So I'm not surprised that the AEW's tickets were crazy expensive. I've heard some horror stories from friends who went on vaction there and went to see some concerts. From my understanding, that and the fact that it's so bloody far away, is one of the biggest reasons why more promotions don't really do shows over there that often. I also heard that insurance prices are pretty crazy high as well. IIIRC, WCW famously did a show in Australia, where even though it sold out, they still lost crazy amounts of money. (The same tour that where Juventud Guerrera got arressted after he ran around naked in his Hotel on PCP bender, lol)
Was really looking forward to this when i first purchased tickets but with the venue change , has really disappointed my group , with now the accommodation/ public transport options (as the one trainline to the centre is down for maintenance)on the day. No update less than 2 weeks out for starting times
I live like 20 minutes from where Grand Slam was going to be, when it was announced I was hype. A major wrestling show in Aus that I didn't have to drive 20+ hrs to get to, Hell Yeah. Looked at the ticket prices, Hell No. Even now, the cheapest tickets are like $70 AUD, for a 2hr television show? I'm good, if it was at least a PPV level event going for 3-4 hrs, maybe.
It's really unfortunate with the confusion but wasn't Grand Slam always one of those specialty shows, like when they do Fight for the Fallen or Winter is Coming? I feel like saying it was a PPV was a slip up but should have been corrected. But it really is unfortunate for the fans who bought tickets and refunds should have 100% been offered for the change of venue.
400 “dingo dollars” is about £200 for a floor seat. Feels like WC as of late have been pushing the AEW hate agenda, just my opinion. Very much click-baiting headlines.
Haven't seen any promoter acts so stupid and lie in front of the world. They messed up he should accept it but instead he's acting as if it was all planned. TK is the biggest joke that has happend in the wrestling world. AEW could've been so much bigger and better had he not acted so childish.
I’m not complaining. I get good wrestling and don’t need to pay for a PPV. I’ve never been to a PPV but I’ve traveled for tv wrestling before and I’ve never been disapponted. And All Star games don’t normally go long. They’re agonizingly boring
Prices too expensive when you add travel and hotels in. I looked at the start and the prices for anything you wouldn’t need binoculars to see was ridiculous
100% bait and switch people would not have got tickets outside brisbane and gold coast if they advertised it properly . Beyond disappointed and could not get a refund, worse seats and now to make it better all the trains arent running .A great way of how to ruin their reputation in a potential new market .
@sajidsh911 the first Grand Slam had over 20K people and all the others had over 10k. Those are PPV attendance numbers for AEW but it was still never referred to as a PPV.
It was clearly downgrade from a big event because ticket sales are so disappointing that’s it’s going to be a small crowd as per your usual Collision. They have now matched the event to the attendance. Problem is it was sold as a major event. Utterly disgraceful and embarrassing the attendees have a very strong case for a legal claim against AEW. TK is an utterly incompetent buffoon. Everything he does proves the correctness of CM Punk’s comment
Disrespect from all sides really. Tony Khan should save on the expense and just broadcast from Daily's place. If Australia doesn't want AEW, it's not the end of the world.
Tbh thats what AEW gets for taking Grand Slam away from Queens. Smh i mean venue change, after the all star game which means unstable time slot and making it seem bigger then a standard tv show. Jinkie

So a TV show with 50k capacity was planned and as a Collision special 😂😂😂
@sajidsh911 yes. It was always advertised as a grand slam and those are always tv specials
@sajidsh911 you're being really condescending for how wrong you are lol. You obviously don't watch it and are just being a weird mark
This is not the first grand slam. This is not even the first grand slam in a stadium. Yes this is the first event in Australia but Grand Slam has never been a ppv it was always a tv special event. This is just you guys coming off smug for your own misunderstanding.
Grand Slam has been a tv event the entire time it’s existed
I get that it was originally scheduled as a ppv. I mean it's their first time in Australia. Why wouldn't it be. But hasn't grand slam always been a television special
@@michaelcourtney4969 it was never scheduled as a ppv, Grand Slam has always, absolutely always, been a tv special.
From what I understood Brisbane is not near any other major city it
You have to fly From other places in Australia
I live in India so might be wrong
To be fair, Grand Slam was never a ppv in the states. It was in fact where the shows were held, Billie Jean King Stadium where they hold the U.S. Open. Grand Slam in Australia was gonna be where they hold the Australian Open.
I think $500 for the first and very last ever AEW event in Australia sounds fair.
Also, feel like Cena wins chamber but Cody becomes the heelest asshole ever when he cheats to retain.
Grand Slam was never advertised as a PPV. Grand Slam has always been a TV special. If you assumed it was a PPV then that's on you. Eff off with the constant AEW hate. Grow up. Be better.
Yeah , Whatculture is mooching off the desire for AEW hate by putting up these thumbnails to bring in viewers because it seems all anyone wants to follow is AEW negativity
Multiple banger matches on Dynamite last night but no way anyone is gonna talk about those
Mate, this channel has been their biggest supporter, now they report factual news, they hate AEW? You AEW marks are the most delusional, unbearable morons any fan base has to offer. Getting mad they called a PPV and telling someone to grow up in the same sentence is absolutely embarrassing 😂😂😂 you guys are just a bunch of crying little girls 😂😂
Lol, they are total Fanboys for AEW. They hate WWE.
@@KaitoKiaraand I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you
@@Dx-so7jm"oh but the matches were bangers" no one care if you have segments with people that just can't cut a promo to save their life. You have Jeff Jarrett on a title run.for the love of God 😂😂😂😂 dude looks like he's about to drop and they have him going on this run to the title, beating guys 30/40 years younger than him and you lap it up and think it's the best thing on TV 😂😂😂😂😂😂 embarrassing that you have a near 70 year old man in the main segments every week 😂😂😂😂😂
This is the time Tony just needs to become the money man...He's obviously showed he's an ineffective booker, and locker room control. It's just getting worst and worst.
Grand Slam has always been a TV special. Me personally always thought it was going to be, but I can see how people have gotten confused with all that wordage from TK
I'm going, bought tickets in the presale. The only thing I'm annoyed about is how this feels like such a missed opportunity for them.
Punk wins the chamber and faces Cody at Mania. Roman returns to cost Rollins the chamber win.
Brisbane was a bad choice to do the show Sydney or Melbourne would’ve have been better choices
Bliss is getting ruined joining on Wyatt Sucks no thanks let her go solo
Thank the Wrestling gods that someone is reading what I'm typing! Punk v Cody (M.E. Night 2!), Rollins v Reigns, Cena v Jacob Fatu could be a banger, Uso v Gunther (M.E. Night 1), Charlotte v Tiffy, Rhea v Sky
All of which leads to CM Punk v John Cena at Summerslam 2025
Thank y’all for being honest about this.
I’ve been confused for weeks if Grand Slam is a PPV or just a regular show.
So personally I'd love a Bliss with Wyatt 6 feud with Shotzi the story being Shotzi's upset at Bliss for stealing her Rumble spot.
on the bliss comeback, i really dont want her to be part of the Wyatt 6 at first like, keep them separate doing their own things.. but, i do want there to be a very slow burn storyline of her going out on her own, but the 6 are always in the shadows, watching, looking out for her, like guardian angels (or demons) like they keep their distance but Uncle Howdy tells her all she needs to do is say the word and theyll be by her side
Sorry guys, I 100% disagree with you on this.
Grand Slam has always been on free.
They have NEVER said it was a PPV, while I can understand why
*people going to the show*
are pissed, but for the people like me who can't afford to fly around and go to PPVs,
ARE HAPPY BECAUSE IT IS FREE.
I think you guys are grasping at straws and calling it a shame and a shambles is embarrassing, at the very least it's another "take a dump on AEW" video by you guys.
Too much AEW hate coming from this channel.
10 mins on people making assumptions on something being a PPV when grand slam never has been a PPV.
Are you for real? Andy is literally the biggest AEW Mark there is, constantly putting WWE down or trying to deflect something AEW has done and make it about WWE. You AEW marks are unbearable 😂😂 just a bunch of crybabies
@@glentchapmanthink about that. You're getting angemry at someone calling something a PPV when it isn't. Further proof how pathetic you AEW marks are. Just a bunch of freaks with no life 😂😂😂
@ Andy is fairly neutral on US promotions if you listen to him. If anything he favours mad shit like Gleat or anything sublime or ridiculous. All hosts are fairly open about their preferences but I wouldn’t label him a mark of AEW or WWE
How can Roman be declared as missing time off when he only shows up once every 10,000 years?
Grand Slam has always been a t.v special that has the feel of a ppv. I don't get how anyone can be confused by this.
Cena vs Hurricane needs to happen!
I'm pretty sure you guys were the only ones fooled on this one. Grand Slam is always one of their special TV events and never been a PPV.
It would have helped if they had put the "AEW Saturday Collision" name on the logo; there there would be no issue...
All I gotta say is thank god Andy isn’t booking WWE
We're getting this on free TV. Why do you feel the need to complain?
Was really looking forward to this when i first purchased tickets but with the venue change , has really disappointed my group , with now the accommodation/ public transport options (as the one trainline to the centre is down for maintenance)on the day. No update less than 2 weeks out for starting times
Update on Roman reigns:
Y'all know I'm a part-timer, right? 😂
As a fan attending next week AEW has burned a ton of fan goodwill. Something they can ill afford these days
Im not complaining its not a ppv.... Hell, im strapped right now, so it being a tv show is good for me.
aew grand slam australia should be a ppv not a tv show aew is robbing the fans it is very confusing it just dont make sense🤔
400 “dingo dollars” is about £200 for a floor seat. Feels like WC as of late have been pushing the AEW hate agenda, just my opinion. Very much click-baiting headlines.
100% agree, they should be better than this, but they'll be getting the clicks.
Haven't seen any promoter acts so stupid and lie in front of the world. They messed up he should accept it but instead he's acting as if it was all planned. TK is the biggest joke that has happend in the wrestling world. AEW could've been so much bigger and better had he not acted so childish.
I need Alexa and Braun back together, Wyatt sicks or not but together
I’m not complaining. I get good wrestling and don’t need to pay for a PPV. I’ve never been to a PPV but I’ve traveled for tv wrestling before and I’ve never been disapponted. And All Star games don’t normally go long. They’re agonizingly boring
Prices too expensive when you add travel and hotels in.
I looked at the start and the prices for anything you wouldn’t need binoculars to see was ridiculous
Cena should NOT get any title matches. He should be putting current wrestlers over!
They've never had a Grand Slam ppv. They have always been on tv during the normal time slot.
100% bait and switch people would not have got tickets outside brisbane and gold coast if they advertised it properly . Beyond disappointed and could not get a refund, worse seats and now to make it better all the trains arent running .A great way of how to ruin their reputation in a potential new market .
can someone just make a compilation of how many times andy murray rags on the beatles
Can a week go by without AEW shooting themselves in the foot?
None of the Grand Slams before this have ever been PPV events. If they had said All IN Australia or Revolution Australia then I could see your point.
Has there ever been a TV show planned for a 50k arena capacity?
@sajidsh911 the first Grand Slam had over 20K people and all the others had over 10k. Those are PPV attendance numbers for AEW but it was still never referred to as a PPV.
It was clearly downgrade from
a big event because ticket sales are so disappointing that’s it’s going to be a small
crowd as per your usual Collision.
They have now matched the event to the attendance.
Problem is it was sold as a major event.
Utterly disgraceful and embarrassing the attendees have a very strong case for a legal claim against AEW.
TK is an utterly incompetent buffoon. Everything he does proves the correctness of
CM Punk’s comment
Disrespect from all sides really. Tony Khan should save on the expense and just broadcast from Daily's place. If Australia doesn't want AEW, it's not the end of the world.
Suggesting Fatu vs Ishowspeed is tantamount to advocating for live streamed murder.
Jade coming back Bianca Boring was definitely the attacker calling it
Do you think that the "contract dispute" was a work to throw people off so they didn't expect her to be in the Rumble?
Tbh thats what AEW gets for taking Grand Slam away from Queens. Smh i mean venue change, after the all star game which means unstable time slot and making it seem bigger then a standard tv show. Jinkie
Tony is spending millions on travel, lodging, production, catering, production and contracts just to make a couple thousand in revenue?
Dude is completely clueless. No wonder this company is losing money hand over fist.
You wouldn’t book out 55 thousand seat Suncorp stadium for a four match card episode of Collision
I think it was going to be a PPV till the network got involved & low ticket sales!
Grand Slam is a mistake and was cursed from the start. There is no way in hell this was always meant to be a TV event, Tony just doesn't want to admit that the whole idea went to sh*t and he fumbled his way to try and salvage it. This was going to be a massive PPV stadium show, and when tickets didn't sell, it all came tumbling down. Like I said before I just feel bad for anyone who planned to go, the amount of money and planning they had to make and spend. As well the Australian talent that just want to put on a show in their home country.
I still think the contract stuff was just a planted same with the Shotzi story, just so Michael Cole could bury the dirt sheets
