Rick Wright you are genius. RIP
A Saucerful of Secrets is criminally underrated. A fantastic gem from the early years beautiful dark overtones and experimental passages througout the album. This was the beginning where Pink Floyd was crafting their signature sound that would be refined in Echoes.
David's smile at the beginning... ☺
Maroussia Lacoste - He WAS always very condescending toward Roger - and I'm not saying I blame him, Lol😂... That was always how he got by, dealing with the socially awkward/musically ignorant Mr. Misery-Guts Waters...by smiling long-sufferingly....
0:56.... boyfriend is like, "Al -RIGHT ALREADY!!! Don't smoke the WHOLE joint, bitch! DAMN!!!"😂
The smile of a lightly toasted musician
I read somewhere that Dave was model before he joined The Floyd. I'm 100% heterosexual and I have no reservations in saying that DG was a really good looking dude.
@@eoinMB3949 hahaha same here, when i saw him i was thinking "he must have had all the women going crazy for him'
I was 10 yrs old in 1969, my brother was 14 yrs older and introducing me to some awesome music. RIP my brother.
Aw that's sad
@hazel greenroze that there are people like me, young but lover of progressive music. And that's sad, this music now doesn't continue to be in mainstream
I want to tell you a story...
Grimble Grumble... 🙂
@@andreykadun1173 - Tell. Me. More.
Something magic about watching young people at a Pink Floyd show so long ago in black and white film. The girls in this vid are about 70 years old today, yet it's possible to imagine you can go somewhere today and see this, almost like a time machine.
Pink Floyd is an icon in music history in general
Absolutely mate
Нас еще много кто их слушает..
Whoever runs this channel, thank you very much!
As i once said, I think its David himself...you know, he has the access to all of floyds old and new recordings and footage (well, to many of them)...You know like, its his secret hobby
Apparently Nick has quite a collection. I’d be willing to bet he played a large role in the boxset existing as he seems to be the only one who actually appreciates the Pre-Dark Side material and speaks fondly of it, whereas Roger and David repeatedly dismiss it and refer to it as an “embarrassment”.
It’s a shame really. I get that they reached their peak commercially from 73 through 79, but their earlier works are fantastic in their own right and far more influential than they understand.
I love all their material and understand being very proud of their bigger albums, but I actually prefer the earlier more experimental material.
Justin Vavala I saw Nick’s band (Saucerful of secrets) Friday night and they were great! He even came out after the show and signed autographs. I got his signature on a classic Floyd poster. They only played songs from 67 to 72, catch them if they come through your area!
@@martinezz8268 hahahahagagagagaghajahahahahahagava
If that's the case, David can I come down to Astoria and have a listen to the original master tapes of Dark Side. I'll bring the weed.
68-72 era floyd ages like fine wine
So many people say Beatles or Rolling Stones? I say Pink Floyd for life!!.
Giuseppe Piccirillo Pink Floyd and Led Zep
I say all. But Pink Floyd comes first.
I am with you
Nobody beats Zappa, but Pink Floyd comes close!
+++
They were ages ahead of their time and their own age. Amazing musicians! Their music is always fresh, always valid, always new. Love Pink Floyd!👍❤️🎼🎵🎶
This is .. well it is a dream inside a dream.. thank you for sharing this.
And might i say.. I really miss Richard Wright... his haunting chords.. will always be there for me.
can you imagine being in that room?! wow
My first Pink Floyd record was UMMA GUMMA a wonderful mix of lyrical and unashamed psychedelia and downright avant garde
Roger at the end of "Several Species" and at half-speed, 'That was pretty avant garde was't it?"
nick mason plays a great drum solo, effortlessly.
he is playing all the drums without even moving. Magic hahah
It's fun to see my parents there, the funniest thing is that I was born in October of that year! Yep, I always listen good music !!!
How cool is that😎
Cool folks man!
Hang on a tic, this was in January '69 and you were born October '69 - I just did the maths and , wow!!
que suerte, maravilloso!
Damn you probably were conceived after this concert
Inspiring
PINK FLOYD THE BEST BAND EVER !!!!!!! 💜
Masterpiece!!!!! I love this song! Great Pink Floyd! 👍👍😊🇮🇹
It's impossible to articulate just how uniquely important and influential The Pink Floyd was, and is. This band saved me at one point.
I often think and say that also. Music like theirs may not "save your mortal soul", but it makes one realize that we are not alone, others feel as intensely as we do, therefore, less lonely.
Pink Floyd just create magic in music.
If only I had a time-machine.
These old videos are just great. ❤❤ thanks for sharing with us.
Wonderfoul!
Pink Floyd Forever!!❤
Pink Floyd Legend!❤
I first heard this in 1967/8 when a friend gave me the LP on loan. I gave it back soon after, thinking it was the worst noise I'd ever heard...;-D
Times and music tastes have changed since then, and I've been an avid Pink Floyd fan for most of my 69 years. Be well, everyone...;-)))
0:01 - "He's very shy, you know..." :)
🙂
Лучшее исполнение этой композиции на мой взгляд было на концерте в Помпеи в 1972 году ! :)
In my opinion, the best performance of this composition was at a concert in Pompeii in 1972! :)
The best band ever! 💗❤
look at 0:25 oh my god how davıd can be so pretty?!
It’s baffling!
Pink Floyd the best forever and ever!!
RUclips recommended this to me... they finally understand me! 😁
I not live in this ages but, i love this band. :)
Mate your profile is Awesome
I wish people were still this patient
I guess this is a French audience; they are studying the group as well as absorbing the music, for them this is a transcendent experience......
In a dark basement. Listening to the best . Relax and enjoy .
Wow! GORGEOUS BOYS AND EXTRAVAGANT MUSIC
More A Saucerful of Secrets, please!
masterpiece!
this is a gem
I love watching them create
All of Nick's little mannerisms..I cannot get enough 😏👌
So grateful for all this early footage 🙏
Year 2967 someone on Mars will say...what great Music they made 1000 years ago
Psicodelica y fantastica melodia!
La Mejor Banda de Todos Los Tiempos 😆
so atmospheric....
It's like takin' a trip without havin' to leave the farm!
Hohoho boy a video for this masterpiece. This is magnificent. I’ve been waiting for one for a while.
Beautiful
Imagine being in that tiny almost selected in life crowd and taking that with you for the rest of your life.
THE BEST !! ? NO !! THE BESTEST !!! EVER !! PINK. FLOYD. THE BEST BAND IN ROCK HISTORY !!
This is the MUSIC
Celestial voices
Fantastic.
Original track from LP. GREAT.
I remember when I was 11 the first time I heard and enjoyed Pink Floyd.
This just gives me a perception on the speed at which time passes. I can imagine Dave gilmour looking at himself here in this video and thinking, "that seems like it was just last week".
Nick is not even trying hahahaha. I love these videos
I live in the wrong era but i’m lucky to listen this on records too.
What a piece!!
The playing of Richard Wright was amazing. The band was without him might wouldn't get to top of the word, I belive.
Yesss🙌
I'll always be happy watching Pink Floyd when they started making Sid's switch to the sound collaboration of the four, even though it lasted about 10 years, that's enough to live listening to.
Sublime!
L'essenza dei Pink Floyd eccola.
Wow . He's so cute sir Gilmour😄
Maravilloso!
Would love to hear the actual recording!! But this is a dream too!
Saucerful is fortunately one of those Floyd songs that got a lot of releases. Aside from this, the studio recording, you have the Ummagumma one, the live at Pompeii version and countless bootlegs that you can find here on youtube
Syfoll Thanks for the info! I also got alot of versions on this song on a playlist on my channel. If you need some i got you hahahah i wonder how many of these are laying around unknown.
@@rainbowbridge4766 Ha, you're cool :)
As to how many are there lying around, I think in total, they played the song around 60-70 times, from 1968 to 1972-73
Syfoll I wonder if they still played it after Dark Side Of The Moon and if its been recorded. The Pink Floyd website has alot of the setlist i think.
www.pinkfloyd.com
@@rainbowbridge4766 They last played it in September 1972, so before Dark Side was released, but during a Dark Side concert, as they toured it since January 1972.
Naquele lugar pequeno com qualidade do som puro uma loucura!!
The crowd tripping balls lol 😂
The Great Pink Floyd 👽🎸‼ ️ the atmospheres that they managed to make are simply cosmic! There is an obvious congruence between from Sacerfull of secrets and till Endless River. David Gilmourd has been the loyal guardian of the beautiful and arithmetic treasure that gives life to the primary concept of Syd Barret
This is the studio track from A Saucerful of Secrets album (1968) with video footage of PF at Essener Pop and Blues Festival 1969
Thank you for posting these details. I just stumbled on to this last night, but I thought the audio sounded like the studio version. Weird to mix sources like this.
Start my day with the one an only Pink Floyd
All the girls staring at Gilmour I bet, amazingly good looking 👁
I'm 1 minute in and loving it!
Simulation Dweller
One second and I’m loving it 👍🏻

Muchas gracias por los videos :) :)
WHY SO AMAZING!
Simplemente GENIAL!!
Those videos I never seen them before but I love them
Pink Floyd супер
O psicodélico original é para poucos, 🇧🇷👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Pink Floyd Love 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Saucerer live is better than the album version
(Especially Pompeii)
Moke Wed the ummagumma Version is very good but any live version is better really since you get David instead of a chorus
Looks an sounds very much like a playback of the studio version. With some Mason klings and klangs in the beginning
que bueno este concierto
is amazing álbum ...and this song a great peacemasters...
Wonderful video 🇧🇷❤️
I know, right! Beatles and Rolling Stones are epic, yet...Pink Floyd. There is no word I know of to describe The Band, and how their music touches my soul. As a Cal girl, bitchen is one good adjective. 😎
Stones are a rock band, Floyd is an experience. The Beatles had some great psychedelic rock, but are overrated.
Wonderfull 👏👏👏👏👏
So strange and out of this world sound
Imagine having to mime this song in front of a studio audience like the guys did here
Yes that's what they're doing - going through the motions and adding a few live sounds to a playback of the recording. The giveaway is the organ - we hear an electronic combo organ (Gibson I believe) while the organ player is shown playing a Hammond C-3 which has a completely different sound.
I think they played live and the audio from the album was added afterwards
Patrick Sommer Roger and David aren’t plugged in
@@walkerharris2844 ok youre probably right... :-)
“he's very shy, y'know”
This song is divided in three parts. First is a prepare for a war (Rich keyboard). Second is a war itself (Mason drums), and third is a requiem (voices and keyboard).
Four parts:
1. Something Else (slow closely miked cymbal fade-in and echoing organ, slide guitar)
2. Syncopated Pandemonium (drum tape loop, cymbals, distorted guitars, piano)
3. Storm Signal (chimes and organ)
4. Celestial Voices (bass, organ, mellotron and wordless chorus)
"Maybe ... Now ... the're gonna sing, right?" :)
Puro psicodelismo !!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
DEEPLY DEEP N MEANINGFUL
Nick!! 😋
Fascinating................Things that make you go.............hmmm
I thought this was going to be live version, this is the studio version
thanks to ettore whom years ago has made a fan page of you guys on FB!!
💜
They look like they're witnessing the creation of something inexplicable and wonderful.
Lo mejor Pink ‘waters Gilmoure Floyd !

@@serenity20001 Ja, ja, tampoco exageres.
@@serenity20001 y RICK? Él también es lindo y tierno 😞😞
Those feels from 8:35 on, that's my funeral song right there (the Ummagumma version).
nice video , but its a playback from studio album ok.
Muito bem observado!!!
A playback with a few live touch...
I think It's not playback. Simply the audio does not match the video. They are playing a different song than is sounding
You're right it's mostly from the studio lp. This is obvious.
