This video is not sponsored. I have always wanted to make this video and vlog a trip to Bicester Village as I know its a place that not everyone has had the chance to visit and that lots of my international subscribers are interested in visiting.
Like with all my videos I am not suggesting you have to buy everything I buy or "keep up" in anyway, I'm just sharing the things I like and if one or two of those things are of interest to you, then I hope I am able to help a little in the decision making process.
My channel is about one thing and one thing only and that is what I love. Whether that is a pair of designer shoes, a £5 mascara or a weekend away with my family, I will be sharing it here. I am a collector, lover and enthusiast of designer fashion and I also make a point of sharing that here also. If that isn't your thing I totally respect that, I know its not for everyone, I promise I am not forcing you to watch, nor am I forcing you to buy or "keep up", this is not a competition in any way shape or form. There are so many great girls on youtube doing amazing ASOS Hauls which I watch regularly and you should definitely watch them too if that is what you came here looking for. I realised after doing a few ASOS hauls that I was starting to do them for the sake of doing them, clothing was building up in my wardrobe that I didn't need and I realised I preferred spending a little bit more on the items, to show slightly different things than what might normally be shared on youtube, perhaps introduce you to some new designers or stores in the process, thats the goal anyway :)
Quite often I share items I have bought and then the brand or store will get in contact because people will go on to buy from watching my videos. I share the items I have been buying, gifts from brands and items purchased with vouchers regularly however none of the items purchased in this video were gifted, discounted or compensated in anyway.
On the occasion where items are purchased with gift vouchers or gifted, I pick the items myself and only items I have wanted to purchase for myself.
I often don't put the word "luxury" in my titles this is because to me the word luxury is subjective. There was a time in my life when I owned one lipstick. I bought it from NARS at SpaceNK and I felt sick spending that much on a lipstick, I was working full time in retail at French Connection in Christopher Place St Albans and it took three days to build up the courage to buy it. At that time in my life, that lipstick was a luxury, shortly after I bought that lipstick I found myself homeless. Now I am at a different stage in my life where I have been to university, I'm debt free, I own my own home, run my own business and am pushing 30. I'm not an irresponsible child and I work for every item I have. Now a days my luxuries are designer handbags and winter evenings by the fire but thats me and it wont be the same for everyone. I don't keep the word luxury out to "Dupe" anyone into watching my videos, if I'm being honest, they actually get more views when I put it in. But its just a word I don't particularly like, however, the last thing I would ever want to do is upset anyone so if you would prefer I put luxury in the title when the video contains designer items then I am happy to do that but I am well aware I cant please everyone so let me know in the comments.
I have been doing my channel in this way for over a year now and I will continue to do so going forward. If I fall in love with Knitting, you can expect knitting videos, If I one day learn how to cook and enjoy it, you may see cooking videos but for now this is where I'm at in my life.
I'm a home owner, a business owner and financially secure therefore I'm just enjoying my life in the way I want to, whether thats travelling the world or buying a new handbag.

I am what you would call, a silent viewer, I usually never comment on videos, but today I just felt like I had to. I felt really awkward reading Lydia's disclaimer. It really saddens me that the owner of this channel, in this case Lydia, is put in a position (by her so-called viewers) that she has to justify herself , her lifestyle or the way that she spends HER money. Everybody gets butt hurt about anything nowadays. It just really saddens me, even though I do not even know Lydia. I enjoy her videos, her content and I like the things she hauls, does that mean that I feel obligated to buy the same thing? NO it does not. You should not tell a stranger how to spend her money or judge her lifestyle, because at the end of the day, THAT is what Lydia is to all of us, a stranger that we don't know but enjoy watching on RUclips. Hi Lydia, After reading your disclaimer I just want to let you know that I don't buy designer myself but that doesn't stop me from watching your videos because I find you to be a really positive and pleasant personality to watch. Style wise as well I'm often able to pick up ideas/inspiration from you and put together similar outfits from the high street so don't worry about people being bitter or judging your lifestyle- I know it can be really frustrating but the people who like to watch you get it ❤

I understand that it's hard for people who watch "luxury" related videos but can't afford the goods themselves but that does not justify them criticizing you for the way you live your life at all. The other reason they don't tell you what's there is because outlet stores generally have goods specific to them. My understanding in some stores you can tell it's not from the boutiques is the stars on the products. It's common place. Next does this kind of thing for their sales.
Like those Sports bras you got, you save money purely because the band is smaller that's how you tell there outlet not boutique. I hope this makes sense.
It actually made me quite emotional reading your description box, people may think that is pathetic, but I am the girl who is completely obsessed with luxury make up and I'm slowly becoming very interested in designer brands. I am currently in the last month of my degree stressed to the max with dissertation essays and exams, I am low on money and I don't have a job lined up for when i graduate, I'm going through a difficult time at home but I look admire you and the other youtubers I watch. You work hard for what you buy and your business is something I aspire to, I hope anyone who looks on these videos with negativity realizes that a lot of the time its just jealousy why not use it as an inspiration, work harder and save that extra pound and one day we can all own the designer bag, or go on incredible holidays. You never know what is around the corner so why dampen your life by being negative it neither brings nor adds nothing to your life or anyone else, enjoy the experience or be thankful that someone else gets to. One day that will be me and I am going to work bloody hard to make sure of it

You made a really good point. Luxury is subjective. And as you grow up, gain experience, become more financially secure, your perception of what luxury is changes accordingly. I respect you for sharing the things across your blog and your channel that you LOVE and I also respect you for being so selective about the brands that your work with. I am so sick of seeing young girls instagram accounts where every single damn picture contains an ad for some "healthy" fitness snack bars or other things that they clearly do not even genuinely love or believe in working themselves. I also believe that there are enough of bloggers that do asos and drugstore hauls and there is no need to do the same thing just for the sake of getting more views if that is something that you don't particularly enjoy. Moreover, people get butthurt when the products are sent by the brands, meaning, (sarcasm alert) you better go and buy them yourself piling up on bunch of things that will end up sitting on your shelves pointlessly after you release that "drugstore dupes for luxury make up" video as an example. Thats also why I respect you for showing the same products over and over again and sticking to what you truly love instead of going for all of this hype and showing off all of the new releases and stuff. Well anyway, I really enjoy watching your channel, keep doing what you love cause you're damn good at it!

Hi Lydia! I'm not a RUclips viewer, but you're turning me into one because of you! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this video of you and Ali and think you both are so hilarious! I love how you both are so laid back and enjoy life with the blessings you've been given and work hard for. I read your description box and appreciate that you put out there that it's not a competition nor do you want anyone to go broke just to "keep up" and that's an important message. However, you don't have to explain yourself. It's your hard work that brings success and with that comes finances and you can spend your earnings how you please. Besides, luxury goods is always cost divided by times per wear and if you can pass it on down to your future children, it's well worth the money! I've literally waited all day to be able to watch this, it's now 12:06am lol. But it was so worth staying up late for, I loved every second. The shoes are amazing, but I'm still in love with that Burberry lace trench coat lol. I love your disclaimer, I hate that you have to to "justify" yourself but on the flip side, I think the way you articulated it is so inspiring to other young women. As you know I'm still in grad school, and I'm in my mid-30s, my budget doesn't extend beyond the occasional splurge at Ted Baker or Swarovski, but I work hard for what I have. And one day when I'm done at uni and have a career and have paid off my student loans, if I want to buy an expensive designer bag, I will. I think the idea of a smart, independent, financially self-sufficient woman is threatening to some, so they will always try to tear you down. But just know that for every "hater" there are at least a dozen young women like myself who admire you for your hard work, talent, and persistence in this industry and watch your videos because of how genuine you are. Keep being you Lydia, because you're amazing and so many of us really appreciate that. :) xx
Woman, you do NOT need to justify yourself for what you buy! If it's expensive and you can afford or, or find a way to afford it, why the hell not?! I use to feel slightly ashamed or embrassed if I had something expensive that I was wearing or that was hanging off of me because I didn't want to come off 'spoiled' or 'full of myself', but if I feel good after saving money for it and wearing it, I shouldn't let other people's judgements affect my mood. Do you! You look great!

I wanted to say that I appreciate you using "Luxury" in your titles, as that helps distinguish between your high street hauls. I worked in Selfridges/ Harvey Nichols/ Kookai etc when I was a teenager and my biggest motivation at the time was my mum saying "if you want clothes and handbags you work for them because I can't afford it! I can tell you you are so right about building up to buy yourself good quality wardrobe items if that's what you are interested in. It's not for everyone and some people choose to spend on other things instead, but what I love about your vlogs are that you don't pretend and keep it real. It's quite apparent that you have good values and goals as at least you have bought your house and previously explained, never owned a credit card. Hats off to you I say for demonstrating how to look great by being savvy rather than a spendthrift who gets carried away :)

You are SO right about Bicester being a place of mystery and luck. I don't love far away and I've been shopping there more than anywhere else and my top tip is to avoid any kind of public/ school holiday. They put the prices up and I swear they put the "nicer" pieces away and re-circulate older stock at those times.

I admit that your videos influence me in a positive and sometimes in a negative way. Like the other day I watched one of your older videos, the Greece island hopping one, and I loved the location. So I checked the hotel and I admit it made me sad that I am not able to fulfill this dream, cause it was ridiculously over-expensive. I love your videos for the information I get on designer stuff and you are right, I learned about other designer items and brand names that I don't normally see in my own country! To me, it's a really nice 'widening my horizons' sort of learning process when I see your hauls or your details-about-your-purchases videos. While I don't pour money into designer items, and while I have my own separate taste for the few items I do buy very very occasionally, I still watch your videos, because they inspire me somewhat in having a better eye for the items that I will/may buy. So Lydia, though I don't comment in your videos like 99% of the time, I just want to let you know that you are great as you are and the things you do on your channel--while pleasing some or most viewers--should ultimately only be something you yourself enjoy doing. Hey Lydia! I don't know if you're aware but you can get 10% off at Bicester at all of the stores except Prada if you have AA breakdown cover! You just go to customer services, show your AA card, and they'll give you a booklet saying you're entitled to the discount!

I live in the West Indies(Caribbean) a far way from the luxury stores or brands that u buy but, yet i love them all. u introduced me to fashion. i saw a lady on the road one day and i said to a friend of mine- thats a chanel boy bag she has there. its like 3000pounds give or take. i felt so good cause u have introduced me to a whole new world. i will visit America within the next two years and when i shop i will know its because of u. i want to say Thank You

Love a good sugar free redbull. Last week I had one a day as I was awake 18-20 hours as I was working full time and had just brought/moved house. Lydia I have heard that Bicester sometimes sell items that are made for outlet (for example, versions of popular bags that may differ in finish) Did you notice any of these types of items on sale? There was a Channel 4 Dispatches show on it a few years ago, don't know whether it has changed since then
I went to Bicester village not that long ago and absolutely loved it. I find it is very hit and miss , but I bought my dream purse! I definitely want to go again to see what else they have there :) xxx

Like others have already mentioned, you don't have to justify your channel and video content, ever! You're the creator here, you have full authority to share what you like best, and not just to please audience. I personally enjoy watching these vlogs, designer hauls, and higher-end items to gain knowledge. This is the best way to do research because we get genuine reviews about items we may want to purchase for ourselves or as gifts. Simple things like vlogging at a restaurant helps me to learn about etiquette and manners. If I want to know what it's like to walk upto a Chanel boutique, RUclips is where I come first. If I want to know about vacations/trips, then vlogs are best at brainstorming rough estimates. If people like Lydia don't share what their experience is like with higher-end items/expensive trips, how are we supposed to learn? Obviously I love watching your channel because you're wonderful! Also because your content is valuable source of information.

I'm reminded of an advert here in Australia one year for Lamb where they made a very funny and tongue in cheek dig at vegetarians and there was a huge uproar from the vegetarians about how offended they were...the response....why do we care if we offend vegetarians they were never going to be buying lamb anyway!...People who comment and make you feel like you have to justify yourself were never going to get any value from your channel or stick around very long anyway so who cares if you "offend" them with your "lifestyle!!! So thankyou Lydia, once again, for another amazing and helpful video! I've been thinking about taking one of my few days in London later this year (on my Honeymoon woo hoo) and spending it taking a trip to Bicester Village! As others have said I am sad to see you have felt the need to add that disclaimer but I do understand why you have done so.
