I live here in Santa Ana. In the last 5 to 6 years they have hired a lot of energetic, young, and very professional officers. I think it's made a big difference. From the top down they have good leadership. But they are very prepared at the Patrol level. The officers in Santa Ana do kick butt and are very effective.
@cardfan4ever2009 I appreciate the comment. Except for 19 years I have lived all my life here for 67 years. I have seen personally Santa Ana change in many ways both positive and negative. The north end mostly above 17th street in Santa Ana is a nice area and the south of Santa Ana is nice too. But 80 to 85% of the city needs a strong police force. It's got to help.
Now THAT is how to cover your ASP. Officer did a fantastic job handling that situation. I pray this doesn’t affect him too much and wish him a speedy return to service.
Agreed ..nothin annoys me more than to hear a officer in sheer fear and panic screaming that over and over. Proof they are in the wrong job as far as i am concerned.
Hang on. You're telling me a felon has a handgun? No way, don't they know that is not legal. Probably should have also told them they were in a "gun free zone".
He probably grabbed it from some old man who was open carrying at WalMart. Or he stole it from a house or a car. That's where criminals get guns... from all of the non-criminals who have guns. More guns in society = more guns in everyone's hands.
While this Mercedes is from 2010's ish, with standard laminated side glass, older S / SEL class W140 body cars had inch thick double pane door glass for sound control. ( thin glass separated by an air space like a house window. ) Some mistakenly call this bullet proof glass.
The backup officer/supervisor/car that passes by at 1:04 hears the shots half way down the road and has to do a ah shit u-turn once the call comes through.
The cop next to the passenger has great instincts. He knew right away as soon as the guy reached over and unlocked the door what he was going to do. Immediately drew his gun. Many props to him he knew what that guy was going to do.
The officer did a great job. As stated the guy didn"t want to go back to prison so he decided his fate. The officer seems to be very well trained in a stressful situation, he did'nt get overly excited with his verbal or gun skills. Cool and steady
Always learning from this channel. I was away for several months and noticed, hey a new host on the show! Nope, its John with a beard! Cool. Thanks again for your knowledge
These Officers definitely “handled their business” as John might say! I like the “He puckered up so much gum off the sidewalk, that it took hours off his community service.” Lol😢😂😅
I would say, the first round. destroyed his right rotator cuff. Leaving him unable to use his right arm. But that is not guaranteed. Excellent work on behalf of this officer with his follow up. I hope this officer is doing well, It was a righteous shoot.
I never get tired of the "took the (insert location) temperature challenge". I think the first one I saw was the classic corner store floor temperature challenge.
If that guy in the passenger seat had wanted to give up his firearm he would have known to tell the officer about it AFTER he had put his hands on the dashboard the way he was instructed to.
Probably, the most textbook scenario I've seen on this channel Bravo to the officers. Note: Did the guy sitting on the pavement even flinch when the shot broke?
The officers did a great job, they didn’t over do it and were professional in the interaction. All of which have been lacking in so many incidents in recent years
Hopefully you guys do a breakdown of the shooting that happened in Allen Texas over the weekend. There is an interview of armed citizen who was there, but chose not to intervene. A lot to learn from it.
The only appropriate way of "handing the gun to the officer" would be to say, "Officer, there's a gun in the car. You can open the door and take it, but I'm NOT going to approach the firearm in your presence." So no, he was NOT giving the gun to the LEO.
This could have easily been prevented if we could enact “common sense gun laws” that say convicted felons are not allowed to own/possess firearms… oh wait! 🤦🏻♂️
That gun the bad guy is drawing has an illegal giggle switch on the back of it. You can see it on the back of the slide. It is the small cube-shaped thing that is replacing the back plate.
More and more of the modern cars have laminate glass like a Windshield has had for decades. Unlike the tempered side glass of yesteryear. Tempered glass explodes and disappears, laminate glass does not.
Hat tip to all the clean up folks that deal with messy situations such as these. As a floorlayer I cleaned up after eviction parties, cat hoarders feces etc, no blood and fleshy debris fields.
lmfao the courts considered the perps puckered butt picking up all the gum on the sidewalk as community service that is actually the funniest thing i've heard you say
Im not sure if I remember correctly but there where three subjects in the vehicle, maybe the second officer did not shoot because he did not know who was the target? I will try to look for the briefing ( it happened in my city right outside the DMV office at peak hours)
Major props to the officer and whoever trained him! I thought parolees weren't supposed to hang out with felons.
I thought we had laws preventing felons from having guns? A felon with a gun? Why wouldn't that felon have obeyed the law? I just don't understand!

OMG John...."Dude on the curb butthole puckered so hard he sucked up all the gum & court counted it toward his community service" Time served. 🤣
So when are they going to fix the vacuum crater in the sidewalk? Granted it's gum free at least. Still someone could fall in and get hurt.
lol
@@darrellcook8253 I think it just lowered the height of the sidewalk by 2.4" & took care of the need for neighbors to trim low branches.

I wonder how many times John had to record that bit to get it clear with a straight face? 🤔🤣
Blown away at how calm the officers stayed the entire time.
It's becoming part of routine patrol.

I pray it doesn’t affect him at all. He was just carrying out the trash
Bet he's good as gravy... dude messed with the bull... got the horn.
This is SoCal. Just brushed it off as another day at the office with a little added sugar.
why would it affect him? His moral just went up with that on his resume
I’m happy to see the officer taking immediate lethal action instead of yelling “put the gun down” for 20 minutes over and over and over!
Most likely a combat veteran would be my guess.

Great information and great breakdown.
Also love the different “temperature challenge” you come up with. Very unique
