"fictional representations of ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations" *cut to tayla and ronon in a spaceship* How about that one for a fourth wall break?
Teyla even moreso. Obviously Ronan had it really rough, but his world was decently advanced before the Wraith destroyed them. Though Teyla has had more time with Atlantis I guess.
Ronan might enjoy watching a American Football, Hockey match although I do not think he would enjoy figure skating unless he was going with a lady friend!
McKay : Fictional representations of ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations and the look from Tehla and Ronan was so awesome, love that self ironic lines :D
luv this cuz when Rodney says the "ridiculously attractive people"(Joe Flanigan)"in ridiculous situations"(finding the Lost City of Atlantis and an alien race) it makes me smile
IIRC, Ronan's planet was pretty much WW2 era technology. TV tech I feel like wouldve been pretty close to being a thing of the Wraith hadn't destroyed it.
Well to be fair, If they come anywhere within 200 light years or something like that, they'll know long before they get here, depending on their travel time. We're constantly beaming Real Housewives out to the cosmos God help us all >.>. I once saw a show where some aliens received I Love Lucy on their planet and decided to come to Hollywood as tourists.
Telya came from a culture whose technology barely exceeded Native Americans. Ronan came from a culture equal to the 1940s the odds that they did not have radio and radio shows for entertainment is pretty small.
"Most of which are fictional representations of ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations." Hmmm... I wonder if he's breaking the fourth wall there.
a movie is very diffrent from a serie or so...it doesn't matter that they are making a SGA movie, the serie will not be continued with next seasons...if you get my point.....
You'd have thought, even at this early point, that Ronon would have already heard about tv. Like, did nobody bring a dvd player and a widescreen with them on a trip back with Daedalus to set up some sort of movie night on Atlantis already? Why doesn't Atlantis have a communal tv area??
It's not the box, per se: we're strongly affected by visual stimuli. Case in point: what happens / what Sheppard and McKay do in the last frame. Seeing this, I kind of wish they'd shown Ronon and Teyla *not* responding, to strengthen Ronon's position.
@@heliothrax7716 God I made this comment when I was the tender age of 14. I would like to confirm that I to this day still, "fracking love Stargate." Thanks for the trip down memory lane all!

It's the same as theater, but it's pre-recorded so that you can watch it when you want to. Simple as that. Also, way to date the show, talking about TV that has educational documentary shows. Pretty sure that was only a thing between like 1990 and 2010. :P
I dunno man, David Attenborough has been making educational documentaries from the 1960s till today, and if history is anything to go by, he will continue making them for the next century or so.
"fictional representations of ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations" *cut to tayla and ronon in a spaceship*
How about that one for a fourth wall break?
Why is that breaking the fourth wall.
Because they're fictitious ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations.
Xolotl Nephthys
You think Ronon is ridiculously attractive?
Balinux He's not really my type, per se.
Xolotl Nephthys
No, no, I get it.
"That's what everyone does on your planet for entertainment...watch a...box?"
Not everyone, Ronon. Some people use the internet.
By looking at a different box.
Computer screen : Slimmer box
Phone screen : Smaller box

EPIC
OHHHH... i just got that...
He ain’t Aquaman for nothing!
Double Jeopardy, that's twice as dangerous!
That scene sums up why I love this show so much.
When you look at it from Ronan's POV, it does sound ridiculoous.
Teyla even moreso. Obviously Ronan had it really rough, but his world was decently advanced before the Wraith destroyed them. Though Teyla has had more time with Atlantis I guess.

It's McKay....he ALWAYS win! ;-)
Rest in Peace Alex Trebek.
Welcome to 14 year old videos recommended by the almighty algorithm during lockdown
Teyla might not know, but Ronon DEFINITELY is messing with them, as his planet had radio, and potentially even HAD TV.
To this day, Alex Trebek is renowned as one of the bravest warriors in two galaxies.
Ronan: "Survivor" my ass, man... they don't have Wraith at every turn, breathing down their necks!
*Introduces Wraiths to Survivor. Ratings skyrocket.*

IIRC, Ronan's planet was pretty much WW2 era technology. TV tech I feel like wouldve been pretty close to being a thing of the Wraith hadn't destroyed it.
The Genaii have a technological equivalence to early 1950s minus the rocket science. They even have computer monitors that look like 1960s TVs.
lol and ronon makes a point too.
Jeopardy... Ruh Roh
@PeaceLoveTrek Notice the secret smile Teyla and Ronan shared right after he said that? XD
I feel like now the boxes have evolved more into flat rectangles. Not sure what's on it has changed much though.
Eh changed is probably a no but, it has increased by a lot
well guess what! His name is spelled Ronon. HIS NAME! The guy with the dreads, his name is Ronon and it IS spelled Ronon.
_Fictional representations of ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations_
At least they didn't turn to the camera and wink.
Six people watch a box all day and didn't like having it pointed out.
When the aliens do arrive, how the hell are we supposed to explain TV to them without sounding completely off our nut???

It would be easier to list parts of human culture which could be explained WITHOUT sounding completely bonkers.

Best thing about Atlantis, no arrogant Tok'ra!
Someone get Ronon in front of an American football game with a beer in his hand STAT
Make that a Guinness
The best show on the TV they are talking about is of course....Stargate SG1 and Atlantis :)
lmao what David said
I wanted them to see human tech and the internet. Like just to be amazed by how many things there are.

In Japan, they don't have sex at all because all of their young people are focused on their careers and have no time for sex.
