Just a functional comment - the spout is just about halfway up the pot so tea will pour out when only half full. It needs to be level with the rim or thereabouts. But the method is interesting.
I just went to you site and purchased your wonderful teapot template!!! I’m so thrilled! Can’t wait to make this projects, it’s been my aspiration for 2 years to make a teapot, and this video and template is making it happen! Thank you!🇨🇦
A special scoring tool can be made from a wine bottle cork and a row of sewing needles glued into a groove cut with a saw. Saving time making score marks. Otherwise, there are a few other details, but a big success in my view.
Aaah!! So I have been wanting to try my hand at a teapot but I’ve been waiting for just the right one, and I think this is it!! I watch all of your videos and I don’t know how I hadn’t found this channel yet but so glad I did. This is a gorgeous piece. Thank you soo much for alllll you do!!
@potterytemplates I am so excited to find your channels. I just purchased the tea bowl template as a gift for my niece this Christmas. I was curious if you would be placing the tea pot template in your store for purchase soon??? I am a beginner pottery and love your videos and tutorials. Keep up the amazing work!!
I am not planning on selling them for now. Mostly I've been gifting or using the pots I made at home :) But I do have my own, non-template pottery for sale on my website: www.potterytothepeople.com/shop
What would be immensely helpful to me, is info on clay prep. Ive seen many beautiful slab build videos, but my experience is everytime my clay is stiff enough to manipulate that way it cracks, or tears when I bend it. If I make it softer or thinner, it slumps and collapses.
Hello from Switzerland. Just bought the template. Any advice regarding the spout? What’s the best way so that it doesn’t drip? Flat and smooth or create a little edge at the end? Thanks so much. Flo 😊
Beautiful hand building - just curious about not applying a bit of thin slip when bonding the various parts together, although it's obvious that your method works just fine.
This tutorial is amazing. Im glad i found your other channel! I have questions about spout placement. It looks like it won't hold much water. Is it normal to be so low?
Thank you! It just depends on the style of teapot! I guess you can fill this one 2/3 full (until the top of the spout) It’s a pretty massive teapot though so it’ll never be a case for me that I want to fill it full completely. But of course when you’re using the templates to make your own, it you place the spout higher. I just liked the look of it at this height 😆💙
I just wiped the bottom of the lid where it would touch the shelf. I don't like to use stilts personally. They clay is vitrified so it doesn't matter if there is a glaze gap there.

How? When you tilt it won't it pour anyways?

You should check out my main channel! @potterytothepeople. There I have way more information about working with clay in general :)

sharp and a little “pouted out” I show it in the video :)
Thanks a lot! Did my first one and love it already. Please continue with your templates ☺️

My clay is wet enough here that I don't need any slip. But that will depend on your clay :)
I also just got this template! Super exited to give it a go!
I’m excited to try this one!!
lovely!
Interesting to use templates like this !
You’re a gem!
that's so kind of you to say! 💛

Thanks for your purchase 🙏💙
Omg! They are beautiful!
Can't wait to make these! 💜
so graceful, thank you!
Coisa linda!! Vou fazer, com certeza!!
Obrigada pelos moldes!!😍🥰🥰
Y el molde?
How do you glaze the lid without it sticking to the kiln? I want to try this one!
My guess would be stilts and on top of a cookie.
I just wiped the bottom of the lid where it would touch the shelf. I don't like to use stilts personally. They clay is vitrified so it doesn't matter if there is a glaze gap there.
@@PotteryTemplates thanks! I bought your template :) I'm doing low fire in my studio so I'll have to leave some of the top unglazed I suppose instead.
I’m horrible with coordinating Angles is there somewhere I can get the cutter you have??? Does it help getting or setting the right an angles?
Yes! I have all my tools linked here: www.potterytothepeople.com/tools

Hi, how many liters does the teapot contain?
I haven't measured it but I guess something like .75. It's a pretty massive teapot :)
Love this, thank you! ❤
Thanks for watching! 💙
Hello!
Can I ask what clay do you use?
Thank you 😊
This one is 32/ from Carl Jäger. I have links to my clay & tools here: www.potterytothepeople.com/tools
How did you glaze the inside/bottom of the lid?
I wiped the glaze off the bottom of the lid. Otherwise it will stick!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Sadly! Im still trying to find good clay
I've got links to clay I use/recommend on my website here: www.potterytothepeople.com/tools
Why is it so large? Do you have a smaller version, like 250 mL?
You can size the template up or down in your printer settings :) They work at any size. This one is printed at 100%
@@PotteryTemplates ohhh ok
