Always love your videos Ken. Those photos are fabulous. Only ever had the pleasure of seeing a red squirrel on a visit to Sweden so to see them in the UK is a special treat. Glad you've got a chance to get out - hope the spring gives you more opportunities!

Cheers Andrew. There certainly aren’t many reds about. There are some wild ones in pockets in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and Scotland but it’s a lottery whether you get to see them.

Thanks for going out in the wet. I will have to go to Castle Howard for myself to see the Red Sqirrels. The last ones I’ve seen were on a visit to Formby .

When you go make sure you go the arboretum which is opposite Castle Howard or you won’t see any red squirrels! I hope to back out soon. I recently had a fall and fractured a rib! Very painful but it’s healing nicely now….🤞

I have not seen red squirrels in nature. We have black ones here in Colorado. They are Aber Squirrels. they look like your red ones.

Reds were our indigenous population of squirrels. Greys were introduced and carry a disease that almost wiped out the reds. There are very few reds remaining in the wild and only in limited areas. I’ve not heard of Aber squirrels, I’ll look them up! 😀
