I feel myself the worst boy, I have made tawbah on a particular sin, but I have broken the tawbah almost 10 times, I do not know what to do now, I do not miss prayer intentionally, but I am in fear that may be, my prayers will not be accepted my repentance will not be accepted anymore, a scholar said one who breaks his tawbah 3 times, he is gonna die with his bad habit. Now I am in great tension, I am thinking probably it would be the same to me, I would never be able to hold on my tawbah probably it will not be accepted. What to do please suggest anyone.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Firstly brother, I ask Allāh عزوجل that he forgives your sins and that he makes you steadfast upon his obedience. May Allah ease your affairs and grant you Jannah. Secondly brother know that Allāh is the most forgiving and merciful. No matter how many sins you commit as long as you make repentance Allāh will forgive you. Allāh سبحانه وتعالى said in the Qurʾān وَمَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ ٱللَّهَ يَجِدِ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا “And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's Forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. “ [Sūrah Nisa verse 110] And قُلْ يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." [Sūrah Zumar verse 53] So brother don’t despair and think to yourself ‘I will never be able to give up this sin’ and ‘ my repentance won’t be accept’. Have good thoughts of Allāh that he will have mercy on you and strive your best to stay away from this sin. Allāh سبحانه وتعالى said in the Qurʾān وَلَا تَا۟يْـَٔسُوا۟ مِن رَّوْحِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يَا۟يْـَٔسُ مِن رَّوْحِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ “and despair not of relief from Allah. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people.” [Sūrah Yusuf verse 83] In a Ḥadīth narrated by ʿUmar رضي الله عنه: Some prisoners of war were brought to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and a nursing woman was among them. Whenever she found a child among the prisoners, she would take it to her chest and nurse it. The Prophet said to us, “Do you think this woman would throw her child into the fire?” We said, “No, not if she was able to stop it.” The Prophet said, “Allah is more merciful to His servants than this mother is to her child.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5999 and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2754] The sadness of falling into this sin and the regret you express shows your sincerity and love of wanting to adhere to the commands of Allah and staying away from disobedience. Don’t listen to that ‘scholar’ who said that you will die with this bad habit if you break your repentance three times for there is no evidence in the Quran or Sunnah to support this. As a human you will commit sins but what is the upon you is to repent sincerely. In a Ḥadīth narrated by Anas رضي الله عنه The prophet ﷺ said: “Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.” [Sunan Ibn Majah 4251 and Jami’ at-Tirmidhī 2499] So I advice you to do three things to help you get rid of this sin[ also combine this with what the shaykh mentioned in the video]: 1. Praying your obligatory prayers on time, being focused while praying and increase in doing more righteous deeds such as reading the Qurʾān ect. Allāh said in the Qurʾān: وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do. [ Sūrah Al-‘Ankabūt verse 45] Also praying voluntary pray at night as it will increase your faith in Allāh and decrease the grasp Shayṭān has on you. 2. Make dua to Allāh sincerely that he forgives you for your sins and that he aids you and protect you against this sin Allāh said in the Qurʾān: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ٱدْعُونِىٓ أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” [Sūrah Ghāfir verse 60] 3: My last advice to you brother is that you fear Allāh and that you fight against your desires. Know that this world is temporary and the hearafter is forever. What you do in this life effect how your hearafter will he. So fear Allāh, make dua and do more righteous actions so that you can attain Jannah. Any time you slip up hasten to repentance and strive to never do it again. Allāh said in the Qurʾān: يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ وَٱخْشَوْا۟ يَوْمًۭا لَّا يَجْزِى وَالِدٌ عَن وَلَدِهِۦ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَن وَالِدِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّۭ ۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْغَرُورُ O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver. [ Sūrah luqman verse 33]
