Hi, just had 2 questions. Do we do an intro for this Q and Question 3? Also, can we use AO2 to emphasise a point or will the examiner not mark it? Cheers.
Good questions. Here are my thoughts. 1) Intro to Q4. Yes, I think this can be helpful in giving an overview to the question and the texts. However, time is tight, and you will get the majority of your marks through detailed probing of the question, using quotations, and detailed evaluation, which by definition takes place within the main paragraphs. Essentially, make a judgement call on the day: if you think you have enough time, do write a short introduction, but this is by no means essential. 2) Intro to Q3. No need. 3) Yes, an examiner will reward exploration of quotations for Q4, IF it results in more detailed, nuanced evaluation. However, if it is merely exploring meaning and effect without any relation to the statement, then it will not be credited. Hope that answers your questions. Good luck!
Many thanks for posting this comment. Key word analysis / AO2 analysis is NOT required for this question of the exam. You have to do this so much in other sections of the paper, they clearly decided to give you a break from it ...
this is so good
Thank you. In Qu 4 how often should tech terminology be mentioned for the first 2 bullet points? OCR certainly expect a lot of it for the 3rd bullet.
