There are deleted scenes from part one that explored more of Caladan. A bunch of vfx shots were deleted. There was a scene in which Paul was taking a stroll in the forests of Caladan with Atreides soldiers accompanying him. There was also a scene of Paul walking his horse before gifting it to a stable boy on Caladan just before the Atreides left for Arrakis. An extended cut is our only hope.

I wish we could have seen more of Caladan in the first movie.
Even in the first book, they're leaving pretty fast. There is not even this ceremony to announce the emperor's mission, like in the movie.
