Maybe it's a confidence thing. This year Avery has been driving to the basket much more often and his handles have improved where he's actually doing double moves on his defender. A lot of potential. He's still young, hasn't reached his ceiling yet

People praise him for his D and athleticism, but he also shot 40% on three pointers this year. I think that combined with his cutting ability will make him a great offensive talent one day to go with shutdown defense.
I have been watching him play since he was a Freshman at Bellarmine Prep in Washington. Every game he amazes me a little bit more.

Damn I really hope the Celtics play him more this year. The kid is an unbelievable defender and can handle the ball. Just needs to get more comfortable on the offensive end. I mean they put him in for 20 minutes last game against the knicks and he came out and got some assists and dropped 21 points. I have the same feeling about him the way I did when Rondo first started.

Exactly what im thinking.He gots the jumper now but No handles.look at 0:18 I can't remember him doing that at all last season and before that.i been looking at him on his brothers ig,looks like he been practicing alot on his handles this summer
+Hector Lupe Yup has do a lot with confidence. Never seen AB do a hard cross & jump stop like that in NBA. Hope smart doesn't become like AB. Smart's handle looks a bit shaky last season also. Smart also didn't bull doze in the paint
+Abwon Uno totally agree, been watching this highlights for years, and when i watch him play for the celitcs i wonder where all the handles ans those nice moves went.....as you said, he literally can not bring the ball up court
