- There are only 50 blocks left until the Bitcoin halving event, which is closely followed by the entire cryptocurrency market. After the halving, BTC miners will no longer receive a reward of 3,125 BTC per block, instead of 6.25 BTC. This will help reduce Bitcoin's inflation. This event will cut Bitcoin's inflation rate in half, from roughly 1.7% to 0.85%.

it doesn’t get “twice as hard to mine a bitcoin” …. the reward for mining a block gets cut in half. The difficulty is entirely unrelated to reward.
You're saying the same thing.... The same about of work now equals half the reward, therefore it gets twice as hard to get the same amount
I agree, hash rate is the difficulty. Technically, rewards are being cut in half for the same effort (hash rate)

reward cut will also cause some miners to close down, and hence raise odds for other miners to get rewards

My own view is for a dip which represents the acceptance that interest rates in the US are not falling (yet) because of persistent inflation.
Additionally Bitcoin will start rising again in June when the Fed surprises everyone with a cut in interest rates as it views core inflation to be on its way down.
This interesting play is on Jerome Powell himself.
Appointed by Trump, who recently said he would fire him.
Biden reappointed him, which would suggest he would try within his boundaries to support Biden.
Not reducing rates this year, or reducing them in December supports Trump.
