Dude Nilereds story sounds exactly like a panic attack. breathlessness, unexplained dizziness, feeling like you're dying, etc and the fact that it just went away after a while makes it sounds EXACTLY like when I get panic attacks. and the fact he has a history of anxiety like bro... I'm not a doctor but it sounds really similar to my own experience
Yeah I get why he avoids treatment/diagnosis, because he's afraid he'll fall back into his hypochondria, but I hope he see's a psychiatrist. Getting help with anxiety and panic attacks changes your life.
I've done the whole letting the cops know I'm a content creator & surprisingly my local PD got it right away. I just told them, "Look I'm a content creator online, swatting is a thing, here's my number. Please make an effort to call me if you get any crazy reports from my address because there's no point in risking anybody's lives or having SWAT kick down my door for something that could have been as simple as a phone call & just sending a patrol by to check." And surprisingly they were well aware of the issue & seemed pretty grateful for the heads up. As for explaining content creator work to people who don't get it, well my family are still shocked any time I pay for dinner or anything & say, "But you don't have a job."

With some structure this could be in the top 100 most popular podcasts EASILY. You guys are primed for greatness. If anyone involved in the production responds to this comment I will go out of my way to write you guys an "episode" for free.. each contributor will get liner notes relative to their skills and experiences to help better contribute to the episodes topic etc. (I'm a communication science major at Emerson College in Boston, I watch all of the contributors to Safety Thirds content religiously and would love to help)
A useful tip for a podcast with multiple hosts. Each episode make one person the host; They read the ad reads, introduce the others, and start off the first topic. Aside from this, they also try to stop everyone from talking at once, so if there's something to respond to, they guide it around the "table" so everyone has a chance to talk. Talking as friends on a podcast stops working with more than 3 people and becomes a lot of talking over eachother which leads to some people not enjoying it if they aren't very pushy. Would love to see this keep growing and evolving, but would suggest focusing at least a little on keeping things collected. Good luck!
The safety glasses bit is so true, I've gotten bits of metal in my eyes so many times cause I left my glasses somewhere stupid and was too lazy to find them
I had to get certified when I worked in the oil fields when working around H2S gas. Especially when opening the tops of crude tanks. We were trained that if your counterpart falls unconscious to not try and save him and use the triangle method of escape. The levels at what I was working around were extremely extremely high. We were taught that a lungful will at those concentrations is almost certain death. As many have before tried to drag their coworker from where they fell unconscious and they died too. Really really scary stuff when working in the oil fields. They said “if you smell it it’s too late. But I read this gas is also in farts and added to natural gas to alert the occupants of a leak

I don’t know.. he said that after he talked to his mother he felt better. He also mentioned he had bad anxiety from his early twenties because he was a hypochondriac. He thought he was dying, breathless, dizzy, and etc. It sounded like a panic attack to me. Which is probably why talking it out with him mum helped. Just like when you go to therapy for anxiety you *talk it out* and you feel better. If he was hypoglycaemic and had problems back then, he would’ve definitely noticed by now.

Just because you have diabetes, doesn't mean your glucose levels will *only* go up, they will also crash. With type 2 your body has a hard time of processing insulin, with Type 1 their bodies have no way of regulating insulin at all. It goes both ways. You can range from hypo to hyper and eventually into ketoacidosis. If you are not a full blown diabetec and only deal with low glucose, you are hypoglycemic and not diabetic. But hypoglycemia can lead into diabetes though so its worth monitoring.
