  • I've been using the new Fairywill P80 for the past month, so I thought I'd let you know what I think. How well does it stack up against my current favorite electric toothbrush: the Sonicare 4100 Protective Clean?
This is not a sponsored video, but I did receive the Fairywill P80 for free

Out of curiosity what happened to your old Sonicare that started to dying?

I think the motor died. It still made a noise, but the head didn't move. I could still get it to work occasionally. I ordered a new one just as I was finishing up this video

would you recommend electric toothbrushes to somebody with tooth sensitivity I find it hard to eat ice cream and all that will a electric toothbrush make a difference at all or what do you think?

    • @drtyler2075

I actually think electric toothbrushes are great for people with sensitivity. One cause of sensitivity is brushing too hard. Electric toothbrushes, especially the ones with pressure sensors, are great for that. You might also want to make sure you're not grinding or clenching at night. That's the other big cause of sensitivity

@@drtyler2075 I clench my during the day like every 6 hours or so what are some tips that you would recommend to stop doing it

@@Doreo. It's such a hard habit to break. That's why dentist tend to focus more of making guards to minimize the damage. Every six hours honestly doesn't sound too bad. I'd be more worried that you might do it while you're sleeping, in which case a guard could help

I had an Aquasonic toothbrush. I didn't like how it tickled my mouth when I used it. Also it seems electric toothbrushes have too small of heads. I'll stick with my manual toothbrush.

Hi. Thanks for posting videos again.
Re: stannous fluoride. Does it kill all microbes or just the harmful ones?
Could you please talk about the microbiome of the mouth & what we can do to keep it healthy, please?
Could you talk about spitting but not rinsing after brushing to keep fluoride on the teeth? Is it really necessary if we brush for 2 minutes twice a day? If we cannot break the rinsing habit, is using a fluoride rinse once a day a good alternative?
    Thank you!

Hey! Thanks for watching. The micro biome of the mouth is a good topic for a video, and I’d want to do some more research before I said too much. I know Tom’s makes a probiotic toothpaste, but to tell the truth I don’t know that much about it. I also know Arginine, which is is one of Tom’s fluoride free toothpastes, can be helpful in regulating oral bacteria. I’m not sure if those things make THAT big a difference, but I can look into it. I think something like stannous fluoride will kill both good and bad bacteria equally, but honestly I don’t think it’s effective enough to do real damage to the health of your oral micro biome.
As for the rinsing thing, I don’t think it’s that big a deal unless you’re really fighting a predisposition for cavities, or you’re using a high fluoride prescription toothpaste.
