He turned down a six album record deal with his former band because his creativity was compromised. Then went to Tuscany to be a farmer and he went busking around Europe. After a few years he went back to his country to record 1 song. That's what it takes to write great, timeless songs. Ferment it with isolation, rub with blood, sweat and tears, sprinkle it with heart break, dose it with life experience and then you get a Damien Rice song.
Daniel Day Lewis is one my favorite actors. I think he and Damien are similar in a way. Not interested in the fame, money. doing what feels right. And living for the art.. Or stepping away when they feel like it.
Oh wow. It's nearly a religious experience for me. Never in my entire life have I seen something so beautiful, complete and raw. I do not think there's a musician out there these days that can be in any way compared to Damien Rice. He himself is pure music.
That first song, 'The Blower's Daughter', is desperation set to music. He cried, I cried--- Tragically beautiful. And at 13:40, 'Colour Me In', I just want to hug this guy's pain away. I'm not even kidding. So heartfelt.
I'm not sure if I could ever express what the last 10 minutes of this video means to me. The song, the choir... Thank you for the gift of that song, for allowing me to feel these things.
Gracias Damien por el maravilloso arte que creas con tu música!!tu voz hace vibrar mi alma y ayuda a mis emociones a sanar ,a sentir lo profundo...🥰💜💥🇦🇷

heart-achingly and mesmerising the way he lives his songs. But painfully missing Lisa's amazing vocals and presence. The songs are missing her beautyful voice.
Did anyone else find the two women on I Remember painfully not up to the task? It was as though you could hear their inner dialogue as they attempted the song... "I am NOT Lisa. I am NOT Lisa. I am not..."
Missed "The Professor And La Fille Danse" between Colour Me In, and My Favourite Faded Fantasy. But thanks! Fantastic setlist! Many of my favorites in here. Still waiting on those "It Didn't Take You Long" and "Wooden Horse" re-recordings...
Hi. I would like to upload some videos from Live at Chelsea Concert, amazing show !. What it is the policy for uploading this kind of videos from concert. It is allowed ?!
it hurts me so much to see him perform I remember with anyone else but her, cause, no offense, whoever the girls are, they sing it well, but it just is not real, and while they sing and he plays he's so absent in his thoughts, and when he joins singing, he's so quiet, almost silent, still in his thoughts, and slowly begins to escalate in the power he used to have when he performed it the first times.. and in the end, he doesn't want it to end, he keeps on improvising some jam, but there's simply nobody to join him.. it's pretty sad, it's awesome in this way still, but I feel like it's not what it used to mean to him
+94PianoPlayer I think he sounds better without "her", the versions of the songs have become more raw and more real. I thought I'd already heard the best version of this song when I'd heard his 2012 Korea concert but I think I like this one even more. The harmonization in the background when he's playing and singing loudly just is amazing.

You are so absolutely right. Damien dont cheat noone who goes to see him live. Unbelievable how talented, creative, and deep he goes.
That first song, 'The Blower's Daughter', is desperation set to music. He cried, I cried--- Tragically beautiful. And at 13:40, 'Colour Me In', I just want to hug this guy's pain away. I'm not even kidding. So heartfelt.

Yeah that’s how concerts work most times…
I'm not sure if I could ever express what the last 10 minutes of this video means to me. The song, the choir... Thank you for the gift of that song, for allowing me to feel these things.

Damien is a survivor of rough times and a survivor for many others! Proud to be Irish and to have seen him perform live!
I hope I can attend one of his concerts. And feel such strong emotions during a live performance. Thanks Damien.

57 mins+ of glorious music... amazing, mesmerizing, ingenious Mr. Damien Rice!
Still the best concert I ever visited.
Beautiful as always
i feel like damien's songwriting is driven by sense of abandonment issues and sex addiction and i am all for it
Hmm, or it could be the potatoes just aren't as good in France

Mesmerized by his music, voice, words, melody, guitar...lovely.
He played The Professor at 20:08 after Colour Me In.
Wunderbar!!!
This edition of "The professor and la fille danse" is the best.
Just unbelievable talent
His expression is amazing! He sure knows how to bare the soul.
And this was only the second part of the concert! The whole concert also included songs like The Greatest Bastard, Delicate and 9 Crimes

I love that you can't see the crowd.
Hermoso concierto
Come, come along, come with fear, come with love, come however you are
Ahh love…
Very good.
man these loud obnoxious youtube ads right in the middle of quiet heartfelt songs are fucking UNBEARABLE
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Fix the crappy advert timing please. Ads should be played between songs not in the middle of them!
i think in this particular concert he had someone to help him with hes pedals? For example in My favourite faded fantasy
Hi. I would like to upload some videos from Live at Chelsea Concert, amazing show !. What it is the policy for uploading this kind of videos from concert. It is allowed ?!
Damien is the Daniel Day Lewis of music.

Is there anywhere I can purchase a DVD or recording of this concert?
no he got the pedals at the microphone
al minuto 47 è da brividi
Not sure if he is Damien Rice or Van Gogh
15:42 sorry, that was kind of funny. Amazing performance anyway.
