Bolsters on a couch-genius! Beautiful home and very informative owner! Thank you!
Totally stealing this idea!
I totally agree!
I thought so too!
This designer is wonderful! Not only did he design a beautiful and warm home, he educated his audience on design, proportion, etc. Well done, sir!
Love that he doesn’t run after trends and didn’t rip out that travertine. It’s beautiful and timeless.
Please show his home decorated for Christmas. This home and his presentation is fantastic!!!!
Oh , yes , please . Thank you for suggesting it . Can you imagine ? It is April 2024 now , Christmas 🎄 is in December - hopefully they will have plenty of time to arrange , plan , and film . Hoping and waiting with excited anticipation .
Fabulous home. Love the layering and his lack of fear when it comes to mixing styles and periods. I appreciate that he takes the time to describe what’s happening and how it works together.
It was an absolute pleasure to visit with Doug Weiss in his beautiful home! Doug was so interesting and I would not change a thing in this beautifully decorated home! Thank you for inviting us. Have a great week! :)
Unlike ballet , you don’t have to retire from design . Please never do , you are too talented to stop .
The art piece of the boy with wings on head in the livingroom is by Maggie Hasbrouck from Atlanta…..is my best friend from childhood in NJ!!! What a treat to see this….
That is so cool!
at 15:55? It's so intriguing, I really liked it. kudos to her
What a delight to see a home without a million pretentious objects!
And the stories on how they scored those pretentious objects! Seriously, he gave a lot of good tips for "homing up" one's home. I liked the candles on the remote tip!
Loved him and his home, so elegant yet so cozy. The bolsters on the sofa is just genius, I could listen to him explain design on repeat, he is so charismatic and fun👏🏻👏🏻😍
Okay, now we need part two. I want to see the mountain house!
What a beautiful home that is rich in history. I love Doug's taste and style. He is so talented. His home is colorful yet tasteful and everything is so elegant. I loved how Doug not only shared his home but he also shared his knowledge with us. What a great guy.
I love the idea of using bolsters on the sofa between cushions - thank you!
Love that he is teaching us how to do
it some people just like to brag about their objects.
YES!!!
This might be the most beautiful and inviting house I’ve ever seen. It’s really special. It’s all thought out and very intentional but feels still pretty natural.
What a fabulous tour! Love the explanations about scale, balance, color etc. Mr. Weiss would be a wonderful professor. Brilliant ideas...especially the bolsters on the couch and the unpretentious clay pots. Loved so many things about the visit. Thank you. And my hand is up..for the dinner party!
By far the most beautifully and tasteful layered home I’ve seen. Really learned so much from him within 1 hour. ❤️
How incredibly charming! Am I the only one who wants to be his BFF? The home is absolutely spectacular, and he is fantastic!
Omg he had me at “this is my cavalier”. Such a beautifully curated house. Just wonderful!
I am fantasizing about going to a dinner party as this guy's guest. I could listen to him all day!
Me too :)
Well, Doug, I don't know how to say how much I learned from you and how much I enjoy seeing and hearing you beautiful presentation. I'm smitten by it all.
It's a beautiful home Doug, and I hope you two can spend another 25 years together and have fun and be happy there!
I love everything about this home. He is a gracious host. I'll bet that their parties are well known and loved in their area. I love that he and his husband viewed the home as young men and said it was for an older couple. Then they returned as time moved on. I also love knowing that they have been together for so long and marriage equality allowed them their heart's desire.
Beautiful house and beautiful dog!!!!
Love the living room curtains and great idea of bolsters
Talented, passionate and impeccable style! What a treat to visit with Doug at his home.
What a beautiful space! Love how it flows. Your design work and attention to detail is one of the best I’ve seen. The space, to me feels both masculine and feminine. Absolutely love. Wish you would have shown the bedrooms.
A wealth of knowledge here. I admire his black and red bar in the dining room. The green kitchen is inspiring too.
One of my favorite homes! Doug explained so much about design, style, proportion, art, and lighting, very informative. Wonderful tour! Thank you.
What a lovely guy, I absolutely loved his tour. He was so wonderful how he talked through each room and the details. I loved hearing the wall colours he selected. His dining room was my favourite with the 2 separate areas and the wine cellar, class! ❤️👍
I just love your decor. Very Chic and sophisticated. I am getting a lot of ideas. You are fabulous. 😊😊😊
Love those chairs on either side of the fireplace!! And Bolsters on a sofa to define space like a chair! I will be doing that in my home. I love color and symmetry and your home is so perfectly lovely!! Following Doug on Instagram for more ideas!!

What an wonderful tour! Doug was such an enthusiastic, informative, and enjoyable host. I could have listened to him talk about interior design for another hour! 😊 I would love to see this home featured again around the holidays. Thank you, Homeworthy, for another great episode!
Just love your home Doug, all the layering and the bolsters on the sofa are so perfect! The rich browns and your color choices are so warm and rich. This video just made my evening. Thank you Homeworthy.
Beautiful home, I love how he explains the balance and proportions, use of the space, like he’s teaching. He really gives a wonderful insight on proper design to achieve comfortable layouts.
Love the calendar lamps!!! Everything is beautiful and I am happy that I’m not the only one who used teal and aqua with terracotta in my LR. I was inspired by the old slate floor in the foyer and natural (beautiful-not painted!) brick wall in the LR)
Doug is an artist with good taste. His home is a feast for the eyes😊
Is there a part two? Loved every moment of this. Stunning rooms, great host and an interior design lesson all at the same time.
Love, love, love the bolster on the sofa solution! I'm integrating that into our living room asap. Great home, great host, beautiful style
Beautiful, love all the genius use of color, scale , texture, lighting all of it perfection.
Really special tour. This man has a true gift for decorating AND the art of explaining why he choses what he choses. Such a great communicator. Totally stealing the genius idea of putting bolsters on a sofa. Just perfection from start to finish.
Love, love, love this home, and really appreciate the wonderful tour!! What a warm, welcoming, beautiful home to live in, as well as visit!!
Stunning!!!!! Love all the layers, texture, & color!!!! & I agree, animal print is a neutral…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊
Gorgeous, richly colored home. The dining room is the bomb. Love the mix of history and modern themes.
This is one of my favorite tours. The home is so beautiful, and our host did a marvelous job of showing us around. I love the glass doors that lead from the sunroom into the living room. Also the curtains in the various rooms are so stunning with the furniture, rugs, etc. I would love to have that wine cellar and the butler’s pantry. Thank you for all the good ideas you gave us.
Such incredible talent! Loved hearing the thought process behind the design choices too. Left me feeling inspired!
Absolutely stunning home! I loved the fact that he used Jim Thompson fabrics! Lived in Bangkok for 8 years where this brand is huge but never before seen anyone using it on Homeworthy.
I absolutely agree with him about what he says about scale being the most important! A fellow Canadian to boot! 🥰
First and foremost, I just want to point out first before anything else is that his dog is absolutely adorable! Now, onto the his house… gorgeous home. His decorating style is impeccable. I truly hope he never sells his rugs. He may end up regretting it. Plus, the look perfect in his home. What a treat. I very much enjoyed this home tour. I sure learned a lot from him. Thank you for sharing.
That bolster pillow on a sofa idea is amazing.
30 seconds in and I knew I would LOVE this house!!

I’m only in the sunroom so far and am already obsessed! So artful and comfortable and fun.

Thanks Doug. Really beautiful. I especially love the kitchen and those bar chairs. And the butler’s pantry with everything displayed. Wow! Love. ❤️
What an amazing home. I love everything he has to say about design (symmetry, balance, pops of modernity etc.). Thank you Doug!
What a beautiful home! I appreciate your artistic style & adding antiques to make a beautiful one of a kind!

I’m sooo in love! With the house, Doug and the sweet dog! I love ALL of it! The colors, textures, ideas, scales, antiques, art, moderns, lighting, tones- EVERYTHING!!!
He is my spirit animal. Every thing he says speaks to me. Plus my house is rust and green 😁
STUNNING, STUNNING AND STUNNING!!!
I love everything about this home! Especially the table settings and the artwork. Fabulousness!
Absolutely love this warm and inviting home!! I learned so much from Doug!! Thank you, Sir!❤
A good Homeworthy with a nice, down-to-earth guy who has excellent taste with decorating and architecture. Bravo! And love the bolster on the couch idea.
Think he should invite all of us viewers over to his house for dinner :)
What a wonderful home! You are also a great teacher, explaining your design choices and logic behind each. And, you are a Canadian! My sister, Elaine Reade, would have in balllet in Montreal around the same time as you were. Tragically, she died at an early age. Thanks for your home tour!
This tour felt like a sneak peak into a cozy, elegant getaway spot! Beautiful.

Love, love, love this home !!! Host was wonderful to listen to… no pretentiousness ❤❤❤ just a gorgeous curated with love home…
Oh, my! This is one of my favorite tours and homes. I love his taste and style!
Doug should be teaching these concepts to up-and-coming interior designers. He's so articulate about color blending, lighting, symmetry, scale, functionality, and everything that pulls a room together. That sun room Central Park fabric is to die for! The whole house is so beautifully curated; it looks like the property has been in the family for generations. That's the goal! Funny, I think we're the same age 😉, and I'm also a former ballet dancer who went to school in Montreal. Kindred spirits...
This gentleman is pure genius! I've watched it over and over to take it all in. Just beautiful in so many ways!
I love this guy! Everything is so carefully chosen and comes together to tell a charming story.
Wonderful information given about design!
I have watched so many home tours.Something special about yours. You are very talented.Hi from Australia.
I watch many homeworthy episodes and there are some that I have watched ,but was not satisfied with the plate they served! To the contrary I watched your video from start to finish because You really hit the nail on the head for me. I love to decorate and you speak my language. You could decorate for me with my eyes closed and I feel I would be wowed at what you do to the outcome. I feel you know how to scale and proportion a room with my traditional taste in mind!
enjoyed your house one can only dream to have your magnificent taste - 1961 (you are an inspiration)
Fabulous home and host ❤
