We stayed one night in a cabin, 4 years ago. The stars in the sky were amazing. We saw a few low flying jets swoosh overhead. We were the only people there. Love Virginia. Thanks for the video.

It’s one of our favorites! We stopped by there a few weeks ago just to take a walk by the river! Thanks for stopping by!

Awesome video, totally informative. Thank you for making it! I'm subscribing so that I can see your future campground reviews and also to get some good ideas for camp cooking. Thanks again!

I used to camp out there all the time when the park was first established and I remember them building that platform/gazibo over the lake and the water ran under where you are standing. Sad to see it look like that now ;( None of the other buildings were done yet when I used to go there ... they basically just cut the roads and that was it. I miss those days camping out there by myself and exploring and nobody knew about it yet!

Yeah, I remember when the visitor center was in a old trailer and no running water or bathrooms for campers. There might have been one restroom area...but no showers. It has grown a lot over the 20+ years I have been going there.

@@campfiretrish9605 Yeah I was there in the early stages where you just put some money in the box at the entrance and filled out a small form from the box on what spot you wanted. Only 2 fire pits were built down by the river and the rest was just cut dirt roads lol I was actually there the next summer when they put the gravel down to branch pond and built that area. I spent many summers there when I was in college and home for the summer and spent weeks camping out there, exploring, fishing and loving it. I haven't been back in probably 20 years now so I probably wouldn't recognize it.
